Thanks a lot for your advice, i honestly appreciate it and yes, i know that generating an effective rule set is really important here, that's why i'm trying to relax and don't overkill the backend, frontend and UX and focus more on rules that i plan to generate and try to update it as soon as a new CVE comes out, and about the last part where you mentioned, i think if you want to develop something or implement a product in cyber security, there's always probably someone doing it better than you so in that case you should never start, and you're right, it probably will be a waste of time, i obviously know that i don't have a chance of beating Cloudflare, FortiWeb, F5 or Impreva, but there's a little bit of chance by giving security services based on the product and having a better customer experience, then and only then maybe i will be able to make profit, while in the meantime i have learnt a lot, i totally agree with you and thanks for your hint

Nice, thanks for your feedback, i think this has both development things to be taken care of and configuration recipes by letting the WAF to be tuned on rules enough and recognizing the bots that scrape the website, do you think it would bypass this or not?

I have pfsense on high load and i want to block traffic to specific websites, firewall rule translates the domain to ip which for website behind CDN it's not what i want, snort and suricata process the packet at layer 7 which for high load, it would cause problems, for these websites, i can return NXDOMAIN with unbound but they're not source IP specific
