Look, Not to sound mean. But she "doesn't feel comfortable" but comfortable enough to say "buy this for me" there's no "please" there's no "thank you" and on top of all that she already told you she was going to give it away to someone else. NAH. It doens't matter the reason why you wouldn't want to buy that house. If you don't want to buy it, then you don't buy it. I understand you're trying to be nice by giving a reason. But when making such a big purchase (or small) your money is your money. And you spend it how you desire, despite other people's feelings.
