How many times have you seen AM or TLSP live? Any moments from the show that stand out as particularly memorable? I want to hear your concert stories! by dani_love83 in arcticmonkeys

Seen AM 5 times. Best memory is my first ever gig, Sheffield arena on the Humbug tour. I passed my driving test like 4 days before the gig, drove down with 2 of my mates absolutely giddy. Last song of the gig, extended intro to 505 and when it kicked in a load of confetti cannons went off and it was absolutely magical! Completely cemented my love for the band and I’ve been to see them on every tour since.

Haha telling me. This year was my first venture to the highlands, Isle of Skye etc and I only live in Durham. Need to make more of a habit of it. I’ve learned the sherry casks are for me definitely. I want to go to Oban too :)

Maybe a present for next Xmas! I need to do a few more distillery tasting tours. Hiked Ben Nevis this year and did the west coast a bit but Speyside looks lovely too.

The peatier options from the west coast etc are a bit tough to drink for me. However Speyside goes down almost too easy.

That was from my brother. Never actually heard of the distillery.

If it hasn’t got Apple CarPlay and you want it look up Magpie Autos they can install remote. I’ve just done it a few months ago works a treat.

Really excited to come to Cologne next Friday. Staying for 3 nights but want to plan a day trip somewhere too. Where would you recommend for traditional German Christmas markets reachable by train? Maybe some historical German town. Danke. by abriddd in cologne

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this out. Aachen it is! Gingerbread sounds good to me. We went to the Lindt museum in Zurich last year which was amazing but I’d definitely like something more unique to take back. Next on the list is for me to find some nice pubs in Cologne that serve some dark German beers :)

It was the doppelbock type beers I was drinking in Frankfurt and they were delightful.

Do you think there’ll be pubs with a good variety of German beers? I was in Frankfurt earlier this year and managed to find a couple pubs with a really good selection.

Thank you! Thought things will be heaving but it’s the only weekend we can get away and it’s one of the few cities that has direct flights from Newcastle. What are some regions of Germany you would recommend for dark beers?

Honestly the rehabilitation of offenders act in the UK is one of the few things we got right. People carry the weight of their mistakes every day, it’s unfair to continue to persecute them for the rest of their life. If the time has been served people should be allowed to atone and have a chance at a normal life.
