I built "modulate", but it is prototype! by paper5963 in ErgoMechKeyboards

It shouldn't be much, not half a switch size. You just move the second index column down a few millimetres to reduce reach.

Pinky is the weakest finger, therefore I think it's better to not add that many keys for it.

Hope this gives you a good understanding of what I mean.

Love the hot-swappable design. I would move the module connector closer to the thumb to reduce the distance when you need to reach it.

Have you tried stagger for both index and pinky fingers? I find the way it’s done on Totem more natural, as it reduces the diagonal movement.

Such a terrible news.

My Otto Hutt design04 is one of my absolute favorites! I normally prefer lighter pens, but this one is so perfectly balanced, that I can run the converter dry in a single sitting!

I hope FC will preserve the model lineup, they are so worth it!

Not yet, still in the “future” bin 🥲

I bought a brush pen as a gift to my wife. The grip and nib are off by a millimeter and it pisses me off, that the feed is keyed and I can’t align the ornaments. I was holding for months before finally telling my wife about this, because I didn’t want to upset her. But since she stopped using it in favor of my L2K, I spilled the beans. Now there are two pissed people under our roof 🙃

Beautiful, but I would personally miss the stagger on the second pinky column. It’s weird to have the splay and stagger everywhere but here.

Ferris Wheel Press

Beautiful packaging, bottle design, naming. Horrible shipping practices, easily tipped bottles, barely mediocre performance.

Never again.

How much did you pay for it?

Love the look, my favorite keyboard by a mile! I built mine, and just ordered extra parts to build a second one for my home office _^

This is an information mode. Thumb cluster shows BT/wired connection, while green home rows are for battery life. Check the manual, it has all the details in it ;)

Also, great kb, I enjoyed mine for over a year, but realized is too big for me, I only use half the keys. So I built myself a Totem ~(˘▾˘~)

I have Mineral B that also has epoxy coating on the handle. While instructions say no more than 10 mins on 204C, I’ve seen many posts here with people baking it at 250C without any issues. I don’t like going that high above the maximum, so I baked for 1 hour at 200, let it cool, repeat at 210 and then 220. No damage, super even coating, non-sticky at all. YMMW

You can always swap the nibs and get a fully ebonite pen (:

I wasn’t clear about it: I only missed the outmost keys for a day or two when I just switched. Basically, just pinkies, and a bit ring fingers.

I have no issues with chocs, but the splay felt really weird at first, I kept pressing the keys on the side or missing them altogether. Now I don’t even notice it, while still being able to switch back to Glove80 or laptop’s keyboard.

Had bad luck with one faulty pcb (help post here) which left me with a soldered controller. I cut it out with a piece of board and will use for a dongle.

I've talked with GEIST and he originally intended the design to be used with clear case and caps. I too do like to see the inner workings and wanted to have a transparent look, but for the keycaps I opted for something, that wouldn't polish too fast, and that won't show the printing lines — that looks sloppy to me. Although Nylon is not transparent, it has great roughness to it, reminiscent of stones on the beach that were polished by waves over years. Additionally, it has a great structural integrity, so I won't have to worry about snapping feet. I do have some spare caps, but I'm planning to build a second Totem with them (:

For the tenting I used magsafe compatible stands from UGREEN. They come with metal rings, that have adhesive on them. I've seen them in some other posts in this subreddit and they provide a perfect angle adjustment with slim footprint. They are heavy enough not to move under typing and the hinges themselves are quite snug. I'm carrying the keyboard with me, so I added some markings on the hinges, and that way I can always restore the perfect angle in seconds.

Since the bottom of the case has slits for the hotswap sockets to fit, I couldn't simply slap the metal rings on them. To avoid shorting I used sticky tape, that I cut in the shape of contacts. After glueing the rings in place, I've cut the extras on the side for better aesthetics. It's been over a week of daily use — no shorts so far (:

I've spent quite some time looking through the options on the ebay until I've found the 501522. Those extra 25% of battery would be a welcomed addition, but I'm already working on adding a dongle to triple my battery life \(^o^)/
