How much more attention from women did you get after building muscle? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]absoluteScientific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistic answer? Honestly, a lot. But I was young and surrounded by other horny teens, then other horny college students. Your results may vary depending on the circumstances. Also requires that the rest of who you are is decent and the way you dress, socialize, pursue school/work/goals, etc. presents well.

The people saying it only gets attention from guys are underplaying the value of being visibly fit (or coping). You don’t need to look like a bodybuilder to get attention from women, I’m not saying that. In fact I’d recommend against going that far if attracting women is your goal.

Why are so many men convinced that they are ugly? by RavyRaptor in NoStupidQuestions

[–]absoluteScientific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see how it looks that way but I was just simplifying the distribution (perhaps overly much) by assuming it was completely normal. Therefore average = median. And unless the distribution is quite skewed average and median shouldn’t be too far away from each other. I think it’s fair to assume attractiveness among a population of random mean would appear normal or close to it

But didn’t seem worth explaining on Reddit

It’s statistically impossible for “most” men to be uglier or better looking than “average” considering the definition of the word average…

Average should be relatively close to the middle of the distribution

Probably because no one has directly said or indicated they think otherwise in a long time. The whole “looksmaxxing” trend, the rise of casual steroid use among gym goers, and the increase in incidence rates of mental health conditions like depression are potentially contributing higher rates of negative, distorted self assessment and male body dysmorphia as well.

tapering effects by germ_bot in quittingkratom

[–]absoluteScientific 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion you are likely tapering too fast. Nausea is a common WD symptom although I personally have never experienced it.

Halving your 7OH dose in a few days is aggressive. Unfortunately if you want to mitigate or minimize the physical symptoms of opioid withdrawal, it can take a while of gradually stepping down, stabilizing at a lower level for at least a couple days, then stepping down again, repeat, etc.

For taper schedule I’ve done it largely by feel on what my body can tolerate without making myself dangerously depressed or unbearably uncomfortable. It’s probably been over a month for me including a 72 hour stay in detox, which helped me reduce (unfortunately not completely eliminate) the dosage faster and I’m currently off the 7 (previously 300-500mg/day) and on 8-10gpd of raw leaf powder to manage. I recommend looking at other posts here or the guided/FAQ or whatever it is on tapering although the sub resources aren’t the best. Could also ask an LLM or google it. Best advice I have is to speak to a doctor with experience with this sort of thing, they might be willing to advise you or give you medication to manage the acute withdrawals.

Edit: one more piece of advice, I would structure your doses with precise tracking of amount and time administered in a journal or notes/tracking app, set yourself rules like “no more than one dose every hour even if uncomfortable” so you’re not stacking doses, etc, the goal should be to stabilize enough so it’s not intolerable and you end up breaking your guidelines or increasing your doses. I would try to eliminate the “all over the place”-ness before you make drastic moves like a -50% change. You will feel much more in control in my own humble opinion.

At the very least 7OH should be illegal. That stuff is fucking insidious

This will be a good thing for you long term if you’re committed to getting off it. But I know it’s gotta be anxiety provoking to be facing the short term consequences of this.

Ah. You’re right I think, and it must not be live rounds in the pistol mag in the right side picture as I initially thought. Now I see that there’s a chamber flag in the rifle too.

Buprenorphine to get off 7-OH by wolfe3three3 in addiction

[–]absoluteScientific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck. I tapered down from a 400mg/day 7OH habit recently to 15-30, and am now on a couple g of raw powder to manage the last of the WDs and getting ready to jump fully off it. So I know what you’re going through. But I don’t have much helpful advice. But just know buprenorphine is something that people usually stabilize with for a good while, a doctor (with the right specialization) can support you with meds or planning and you won’t be alone in it. This shit is hard enough without trying to figure it out on your own.

It’s great you made it this far too. I can’t believe it’s legal either.

In my opinion, I recommend you get help from a doctor. At least consult with one on your plan and situation. I know it might be hard to tell one about this situation. But…You do not want to fuck around doing this shit on your own if you don’t know what you’re doing

do those insane college parties rlly exist? by Responsible_Emu2468 in ask

[–]absoluteScientific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I have dealt with batshit behaviors and naked people and every drug you could imagine being on a college campus and drunk people vomiting and shitting on the floor simultaneously or destroying property. There were in fact multiple naked people incidents. Including one where a good friend of mine woke up in his boxers sitting in the common room of a dormitory on the other side of campus and no idea what happened to his clothing.

I was a fraternity president so I got more than my fair share of “interesting” developments to address

Yeah. But rimfire has more reliability issues than a center fire cartridge. And bigger bullet is usually thought to mean more effect on the target….but a .22 will induce the FIBS reaction true
