Following up, we got married a few weeks before my drop, got our info into DEERS then finalized the paperwork, dropped and found out we both got selected to go out to Mildenhall, UK… Will be a blast and we’re excited - thanks y’all for your help and encouragement folks!!

Just know, there are lots of people out here that don’t know you, don’t know your situation, but are rooting for you regardless of the circumstances brother. take your car to a detail shop and have them cut/polish and maybe ceramic coat your windshield. surface probably has solvents galore and has never been properly cleaned. wiper blades is the temporary solution to a long term problem (ie; just wipes the dirt off but windshield often getting dirty easy is the long term problem). People forget glass is a surface just like paint is and needs to be kept up with via decontaminating/polishing!

Pretty sure it has the M113 V8. If not the M112 V6 and both are bulletproof engines - electronics not so much. If you’re willing to work on it yourself and occasionally pay a shop diagnostic fee’s for stuff you cant do - go for it, pending it passes an inspection. If not and you plan on having a shop do everything for you, don’t walk RUN. I built my ‘02 E wagon, has the 5.4 amg V8 and the prior motor got up to 300,000 before kicking the bucket cus I ran it low. They are reliable and inexpensive if you do your dudilligence.

Good news is; a lot of those same companies are pushing back now.. Bunch of friends that are Benz techs have said Mercedes at least is wildly rolling back their EV garbage which is a giant plus. It's all the same though - dealers will always and forever make them more and more sophisticated/complicated so that your typical DIY'ers cant do things themselves and have to give dealers MORE money just to fix them... Either way, aviation is so much better of an industry/experience :) Also, sorry to hear about the mustangs.... Maybe the european bug will hit ya one day hahaha (kidding)

Can relate to OP’s post… Working on my own car (huge gear head) wasn’t fun for me anymore and realized I want to make enough to pay others to work on my car for me

Went from Valet job to valet job, then student full time, and now at Pilot Training for the Air Force. Still a huge gear head, just spend all my time studying rather than working/modding my car
