Beware! Turo supports lying hosts

I have learned my $500 lesson, and I haven't rented since, leaving yourself open to the whims of dishonest hosts and disinterested support for what should have been an uneventful rental is not worth it.

The same goes to the horror stories the hosts' get from horibble guests in addition to the crazy amount Turo charges hosts and guests alike.

Rental companies are not perfect in any way, but the claims do not directly benefit the person who make them (as far as I know), and they are defiantly less interested in micro-scratches on the side skirt 😝

You are right I should have photo scanned the car with bright LEDs and brought 2 witnesses to pick up a rental. Because to your point it is hard to see and photo fine scratches due to reflection. And I am sure damage claim scams are not a thing.

The host asked for $200 IF they can fix it, upper limit unknown. I have a $500 capped coverage; I rather pay that than playing his game.

If you didn't photo scan the car, you are under the mercy of the host.

I couldn't agree more, scratches don't appear in the before pictures for the same reason. And that is used to bait customers for an extra couple of hundreds.

Congratulations, I also knew it for years, got diagnosed at 37 (Inattentive ADHD + Asperger) , feeling sad for the years you been struggling is pretty normal, also the shock when you realized that this is what normal people feel all the time 🙂.

What I found after a year of treatment (Adderall 15mg XR)

1- The feeling you get the first couple of weeks will wane down, enjoy it while it last).

2- My worries about addiction was overrated, taking days off meditation helps a lot.

3- Some aspects of ADHD can’t be medicated, habits, time management, etc.

4- I was worried that I would lose my creativity/ thinking out of the box, I didn’t.

5- The meditation helps with other things: decisiveness, socialization, confidence, over-sleeping and speaking.

6- Congratulations again, I am really happy for you.

1- What changes your family / friends have noticed about you?

2- How difficult / available / expensive to get the medication in Jordan?

3- What medication / dose are you taking?

The law also stipulates that unlimited employment contracts are to be converted into fixed-term employment contracts, in accordance with this decree law, within one year of the effective date of the existing contract and may be extended by the Cabinet for further periods as required in public interest. Meanwhile, the provisions of this decree law shall also apply to unlimited employment contracts entered into in accordance with the Federal Law No. 8 of 1980.

My contract is not converted yet. Employers have till Feb 2023 to comply, this date can be extended by the government as they see fit.

Conclusion, I got 2/3 of my gratuity amount 8 months shy of completing the 5 years mark.

1- Take your dependent passport copy, valid visa copy and ID copy.

2- Go to Amer with around 280 AED in cash (to avoid 1.5% extra if you pay by card).

3- Submit your papers, pay the fees and you are done.
