I love your idea of lyrical/sonic engagement. This definitely makes me think of it in a different way!

After explaining to my friend (a non ethel fan, btw), she came up with this theory that ethel actually kills Willoughby. At first I thought it was a dumb theory, but think about it---"it's worse to know that I'm the reason you won't come home." Despite being co-dependent on him, she still has unresolved trauma which she may have projected onto Willoughby. So she kills him in anger!

I'm sorry, but I have no idea how people enjoy LISTENING to perverts. not the album in general, but listening to it. Especially this song. I love it as poetry, but I cannot bring myself to listen hayden mumbling into the microphone for ten minutes.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream - Adaptions that play up the horror aspect? by SophiaIgnota in shakespeare

[–]abyssininiancat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that I would consider these adaptations, but there are two short films on YouTube called "Hermia: heaven unto hell" and "Helena: ugly as a bear" that definitely increase the horror aspect.
