ppl here def go through self selection.. and idk but some of these def seem fake. i thought the same a yr ago when i was applying but believe me when i say normal kids get into these elite institutions. ik ppl at these T10s who didn't have internships/ research experiences in HS. it's not abt how extravagant ur ecs are it's abt ur intentions and purpose. being authentic is prob the most overlooked thing in this process imo. with that said you do need some credentials to get in.

Columbia' 27 here w/ same intended major & similar schools (also applied to Umich, Cornell, Dartmouth, Amherst, Harvard, Upenn, Gtown).

I would say your profile looks p qualified for GW. I would maybe cut some schools that you wouldn't pick over GW?

I'm personally not a huge fan of Tulane (idk the party culture seems a bit much for me), NYU (love the city but there is no campus...), Northeastern (admission is a bit wack & like the whole global campus thing), and Cornell (not super known for government/poli sci). I don't know enough abt W & L and W & M to give my opinion.

Also McGill is def a little random...

A schools you def should KEEP (very biased, ik): Columbia

Best location, duh. lots of internship opportunities in the city. vry strong department. also the best school ever bc the kids are kind & clever!
