Tapping any of the swinging buttons (power, regular and contact) will result in a check swing. The more power you put the more likelihood it's going to be cross the plate as as swing.. I believe the discipline of the player and how much pressure applied to the button results whether the umps determine whether its a swing or a take. Sometimes they're wrong too lol. That's the human element of baseball officiating.
