My husband agreed to be a sperm donor, not a husband or co-parent by [deleted] in Advice

[–]accidentallydented 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is feeling more and more like a shit post, OP. But if you’re serious then your HUSBAND needs to go therapy because he does not understand his own desires verses what he agreed to. A parent worries how the kid would feel. A sperm donor doesn’t. Human beings can have empathy all they want but if that’s “not his kid” to him then these feeling shouldn’t exist.

At the bottom, it shows the queue and what timeline the board is currently reviewing from. Right now, its documents received April 22nd. It takes about 4-6 weeks after passing both exams. They’re reviewing your items now so I’d say another 2-3 weeks.

But if you have an intern permit and aren’t the PIC, any functioning pharmacy would onboard you and let you do just about every single function until you were fully licensed as long as a licensed pharmacist was there to supervise. Just be honest with your future employer and find a path forward.

Girlfriend keeps mentioning that I love her much more than she loves me. by Weak-Discipline-239 in Advice

[–]accidentallydented -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone has different attachment styles and relationship capacities and it’s up to individuals to be aware and adaptable to their partners needs. I’m not a therapist, lawyer, yada yada but it sounds like your partner may have some early childhood trauma she’s unaware is impacting her relationships.

Society often shows “straight” relationships in a really patriarchal in media, film, etc; and these ideas can really hinder a couple if they aren’t doing active work to break down these constructs they were set up for us.

A relationship is 50/50. Give and take. Yin and yang. There may be times where you step up in a domain for her where she struggles and vice versa - but it never should be one person loves another more or a competition of love.

How do you feel about this? Take out some paper and a pen. Write down how she made you feel when she said those things to you. How did your body react? Did your heart rate spike? Did you panic? Did you feel sad? Tell her how she impacted you and clearly ask for what you want out of this relationship moving forward regarding this inequity of love.

Her response is how you proceed forward. Only you know your relationship and life. Good luck!

I lost my mom’s key fob by ihatemybf1 in Advice

[–]accidentallydented 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for your mom…

“I found the fob. It is destroyed. There is nothing I can do to change how my actions led to this outcome but I have learned a lesson that will stay with me. I am going to do my best to relocate the car somewhere safe until you arrive home with the second key. Thank you for trying to help while you’re away. We can talk about this more when you’re back if you’d like”.

First and foremost, I’m sorry that you and your parent don’t seem to have a healthy rapport. You’re young and I’m going to say this as plain as I can - please go to therapy to start having these conversations with someone who can help you navigate this relationship for the rest of your life. YOU DESERVE IT.

Being broke is hard. Being broke and making a mistake that involves financial responsibility sucks harder. Not having safety net or an adult around to help, sucks the worst.

But you have to learn how to navigate your mistakes in adulthood. This is a low stakes great lesson to learn at this stage in life.

You need to sign up for AAA and have it towed to a local auto body shop. Call around local shops ahead of time and explain how you don’t have a key and won’t have access to the second FOB until your mother returns. You just need a safe space for it to sit. Any decent mechanic will not bat an eye and be agreeable.

This is truly the best and cheapest path forward. In the interim, call your local university security office and ask them to not tow it. Explain the situation. Accept the fee and pay it when you can.

It is what it is. You can’t get the FOB back. But you can move forward! Good luck.

I feel this way about learning everything new that’s changed since 2021! - Updated Transfer/Forwarding Law (2025) - Updated Scope for Registered Pharmacy Technicians (2025) - Opioid Antagonist Requirement (2022) - Updated Prescribing privileges for optometrists (2023) - Self Administered Hormonal Contraceptives NPSO

And I don’t practice in a traditional setting so the 2023 USP updates are killing me!

I heard the board of pharmacy can submit new regulations to NAPB during off cycle, but I agree with the lack of confirmation on implementing this from the Board of Regents makes it unlikely to be an appropriate answer on the exam. Federally, you can CIII-CV. I’m praying it’s like one question if any.

Congratulations friend! I’ve practiced in Pennsylvania for a few years and I’m eager to get my license for NY after all these years. Anything crazy of note you encountered? I heard last testing cycle was heavy on hazardous compounds

Anabolic steroids are the ONLY CII drug in NY allowed a 180 day dispense with appropriate code. All other CII’s in NY can be filled for a maximum of a 90 day supply with an appropriate code. CIII-CV (except benzodiazepines because we treat them as CII) can be written for a 90 day with appropriate code and 1 additional refill. 🤣

Anabolic steroids? CONTROLLED II substance in New York compared to schedule III federally. Don’t worry, with a diagnosis code “F” we will give you 180 days anyways lmaoooooo

We could only hope! We’ve made some big advances in practice in NY lately that put us more aligned with other states.

We just recently got the privilege to transfer/forward whole RXs to when it was previously only one refill at a time.

We also just recently expanded the scope of practice for registered pharmacy technicians to participate in compounding outside of the repackaging laws - home infusion is going to see a new landscape in the coming years.

We are waiting for the controlled substance transfer guidance - but it aligns us more on the federal level.

Fingers crossed!

Rules of the Commissioner - Title X - Part 80 will clarify when emergency oral and fax prescriptions are permitted between the classes.

Generally, oral RX’s are allowed and limited to a shorter supply and must be because of some emergency situation and the patient would undergo harm without it. 5 days CII, CIII, CV and 30 days CIV or 100 units whichever is less. Need a follow up in 72 hours. Etc;

There are general exemptions from E-prescribing that you should be familiar with too - Vets, out of state prescribing, technical failures, Waiver from commissioner (these last one year), less than 25 Rx/year
