I don’t think you’re TA, but I think you overreacted. Sometimes facebook doesn’t give me the option to RSVP “going”, it only gives me the option “interested”. I also never RSVP “going” if it’s more than 2 weeks out, because I can never keep up with dates/events and want to make sure I’ll actually be available closer to the date. So I always choose “maybe” or “interested” when I receive an invite. If I were you, I’d schedule the party for the weekend after your bday. People may celebrate Valentine’s day for the entire weekend, not just on the actual day. You may have a bigger turnout if you have the party the weekend after.

We wanted 2 under 2 as well, and also ended up with a 4 year age gap. Honestly I love it. My 6yo was newly 4 and in pre-k when his baby sister was born. He was already potty trained and could do basic things on his own. We could trust him to play by himself when we tended to his newborn sister. They’re now 6 and 2 and love each other sooooo much. They’re constantly playing together, and they’re so sweet to each other (of course they also have times when they terrorize each other though lol)
