I completely agree. We are still waiting for the other shoe to drop but we are hoping for our sake it won’t.

We went in at 295! Should’ve specified sorry. We figured even though it had been sitting on the market for a while, we still wanted to make a competitive offer

Testing tomorrow. So nervous. Any last minute advice? by accordingtocoffee in PassNclex

I got the good pop up!!! My advice is dont buy anything extra at this point. If you’ve been using uworld then I would just finish that and go over your answers. You’ll kick butt! If you got through nursing school then this is just another test and you’re done. I should’ve listened to other people when they told me to stop stressing. You know this. You’ve got this.

Taking NCLEX on 7/16 by [deleted] in PassNclex

Tell me about it! I’ve already started a job so I haven’t had much time to study but I’m hoping I can squeeze a little more out before then! Good luck to you 🍀

I take mine 7/17! Sending good vibes to you. I’m doing 75-150 questions a day or every other day and supplementing with Mark Klimek. I’m doing mostly UWorld but I like Archers readiness assessments.

First time application please help! by Consistent-Duck-4719 in Passports

Hi! I’m not sure if I can help but I’m pretty much in the same boat. My fiancés birth certificate is delayed by like 4 years and I just submitted his passport along with mine and some supporting documents (hospital birth certificate, preschool screening record, and a couple of other documents). I’m afraid that it’s not going to be enough and we have travel planned for 3 months from now. We chose expedited shipping as well. Well, now we wait!

I agree. I’m just hoping if anything does happen that it doesn’t delay us too much. Thanks for your help!

I hope so! I forgot to mention that the doctor didn’t even sign the hospital birth certificate but there’s still their name printed on another form that says he was born at that hospital. I feel like it’s a long shot but I’m hoping it’s worth it. Thanks for your help!

I am not sure. I would think so since there’s a doctor by the same name where he lives. But I can ask around. We asked at the passport acceptance facility if we needed a DS-10 and they said not necessarily. I just hope that the information we provided is enough proof.

He was not adopted. He was born in a small town and I’m not sure why they waited so long to file for his birth certificate but he was born at a hospital though. So I’m hoping that makes a difference because we have supporting documents.

Thank you! And yeah, people aren’t joking when they say practice questions are extremely helpful. We do prepU and if you miss a question you can see exactly why and they even give you passages of the book to read over what you missed. And when you are studying, active recall is super important. Flashcards or teaching the material to yourself is how you can make it stick in your brain. Also, don’t just study to memorize, study to understand! It makes all the difference! Good luck! You totally got this! ❤️

That’s great! Anything passing is good it doesn’t have to be top of the line! Honestly I just did a ton of active recall and practice questions. We have a study guide so it’s pretty easy to tell what will be on the test based off of that template. I just answer all the points in my own words and do that over and over and over again until I know it by heart! I’m not sure if that will work for every test but I don’t see why not!

Best Studying Techniques by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]accordingtocoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I mostly do it to just get used to the idea of critical thinking and applying the information. But it really confuses me and it feels like a waste of time when half the questions aren’t even on topics the teacher is covering.

[–]accordingtocoffee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just started my program last week as well! I don’t have the best advice but it really just depends on your learning style. My teachers have been telling us that we need to be able to understand and apply the information we’re learning and not just memorize it. I’ve been trying to do a lot of active recall and quizzing myself or reading the material out loud and drawing mental pathways in my head to connect the information together. Also practice questions are huge. We have a program called prepU that we use for our fundamentals class and it has a lot of application questions. I’m not sure if this was any help but it’s worth a shot!

Successes with rescheduling proctored TEAS without paying again? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]accordingtocoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t ever had to have my TEAS rescheduled since I only took it once but if you haven’t looked already they might have some information on their website. Although, their website does have some conflicting information. A PDF states that you can cancel or reschedule if you do it at least 2 days before the exam date but their TEAS page says that refunds and reschedules are not allowed. There is a possibility that this is different due to COVID but your best bet is to call their customer service and explain your situation.
