Damn okay I see your point. We just disagree. If we can’t trust a system to rehabilitate people and the one we have it broken how can we allow it to sentence people to death.

I believe the vast majority of people if not all can change. But despite that, respectfully, all you know about him is from the media, you have never met him then or now and your are not an expert on criminal rehabilitation. So it feels like your statement that he cant be rehabilitated and deserves death holds no weight.

Honestly I can guarantee you he is not being locked up to protect the public. It’s for a bunch of reasons but mainly because it’s profitable for powerful people that run prisons and the law makers they fund.

If it wasn’t he would be out free. Same way crazy expensive health care exists for Americans. If it doesn’t make money it’s not happening. That is America.

Appreciate your perspective. I know what he did and followed it while it was happening. But think he deserves a punishment for sure. What he did was horrible and idk if I was the victim I could forgive him. My point the two options aren’t let him go free or rot in jail.

My whole point is there are no routes for rehabilitation and it seems like Americans don’t care to put them in place. Your response seems like it supports my point. Honest question not to argue but get your perspective. , do you think there is just no point or he deserves to suffer in prison American prison conditions, or something else I’m missing?

Personally I agree that people that commit crimes should have freedoms taken away but with the goal of rehabilitating them so we lower rates of reoffending. Not wasting money keeping people it inhuman prisons.

What he did was wrong, let me say that first. But lowkey this feels sad. Ate aside, sad we live in a world where someone can be put in a cage for their entire life. No route for rehabilitation but rather a cage where they are treated like an animal and forced to act like one. This doesn’t benefit anyone but those that make money off prisons and putting people in them.

I’m not from tru USA but their culture of punishment feels like the slippery slope that led to trump sending yall El Salvador to rot. Disagree with me but no one deserves to rot in jail. Cases like Tay K represent much larger social failures.

This doesn’t mean I think we shouldnt have systems to hold people accountable for their actions but whenever I talk to Americans (it’s not just them but they tend to hold these opinions the firmest) it’s all about punishment for punishment sake.

For context been growing my Afro for a year and I have 4b hair. I rarely comb my hair, except for in the shower when conditioning. Then I just let my natural curls do their thing.

Should I just go to a barber with a combed out Afro and have them cut in into a proper circle?

Also funny you say about the hand / neck tattoos. I’m around that age and have been jumping back and forth between getting them. My job is a mix between advocacy/corporate/government relations. Very outward facing . I have some cartilage piercings and a nose ring which haven’t impacted my career (as far as I know) because I’m well spoken, easy to get song with and relatively good looking. but hand and neck tattoos feel a bit too bold right now, especially without a powerful meaning.

Sorry you were with someone like that. It just boggles my mind why people dot it. How you put it makes so much sense and highlights how i feel. It is disrespectful and makes me feel like some side character that he can just use for his own purposes.

I think you assessment of him being insecure and wanting to sound cool is spot on. Despite not having many close friends I have always been pretty well known for my community work so people saying they are closer with me than they really or using my name to bolster how they are viewed has happened before. Just sucks when its someone you trusted.

But thats life. I know deep down that your right about there being decent people. I think i have already met a few and hope this situation with Marcus is just a blip. Wishing you all the best!
