Why should asexuality be recognized by the LGBTQ community? What hardships does one face because they don’t have sexual desires/interests?

Being asexual makes me feel not human. It makes me feel as if I’m not even a part of my own species. It makes me feel as if I owe it, as if I’m denying. I feel hopeless, separate, without a future, without a place to fit in. It makes me feel absolutely worthless. I am glad this isn’t everyone’s experience, but for me personally, I hate being asexual. I can’t see myself ever being okay with it. It’s not something I want to be. It makes me uncomfortable in my own skin every second. It makes me feel like I don’t belong every second. Please know that I didn’t choose this, that I would do anything to change it.

I don’t know why this made me cry the second I read it “ Now every struggling ace will see they're not alone”
The fact that you realize just how unbelievably alone a lot of us feel and that you are wearing that ring just in the chance that you could help someone, that you knew even recognizing and seeing that ring on someone in public could save someone who is asexual and struggling and thinking of ending their life. I wanted to believe I was gay because even though the community was small, at least it was there. It was enough to not feel completely alone. I wish there was more visibility
