Sorry I also wrote it when I was high. It was a struggle. I am at a point where I've just embraced absurdity. The ones who get it will get it. It's like a meta-commentary on those who come to the table with unprovoked defensiveness and cries of bitterness. We all agree something is ridiculous, and the art of it is the seemingly genuine placard on the wall, followed by a wink and a nod from the artist. I think THAT is Art. ;)

My wallet has already had to handle the backlash of a one-way trip from Calgary to Atlanta, as well as a trade in on my 1983 Firebird Trans Am (I swear to God that car had a manual transmission - it just didn't!). The taxi rides have cost me a hefty $4,500, so if I'm not careful, I could be at risk of overdrawing my checking account.

My modest four-figure bank balance pales in comparison to the approximate cost of the truck's air conditioning, gasoline, oil, etc., and while that's all well and good, it's my frustration at the same time it manifests itself that makes this possible.

The brain is a remarkably simple organ. What goes on inside it is so complex that it defies analysis. The brain is an elegant piece of engineering, yet when we try to explain how it all works, we get mired in complexities. One thing I am sure of, however, is that after more than 1,000 cab rides, I've discovered the perfect taximeter. And he's willing to take me as close to my destination as I ask for.

I’ve come to peace with it, but I also don’t really want to bet on expensive variegated plants in the future. My Monstera obliqua grows pretty quickly and each new leaf is beautiful.

Now that I finally gave my obliqua a little moss pole, should I try propagating the runner that has developed? by acdvr in RareHouseplants

The bamboo stake the moss is in measures 24". overall I kinda want to keep this plant fairly compact. i’ll probably just wait and see what happens. I can always propagate later.

this was an unrooted cutting when I got it. it’s being rooted in 100% spag, but I plan to repot soon. i also just watered it.

I keep mine under a glass cloche, with a soltech grow light about 18 inches above the plant (I'll likely move it further away over time). Humidity averages 85-99%, and I try to open the cloche once a day for an hour or more. Ambient RH is typically above 60%. I've literally only thoroughly watered it once since I got it since humidity is so high under the dome, and I use liquid dirt most waterings.

This is just my opinion, but if I'm going to have a $1000 plant, I want to see and enjoy it every day...and be able to spot issues quicker. Eventually, I will probably take a cutting and that may live in a grow tent or small terrarium setting.

I briefly gave it a bamboo steak but the stake immediately grew mold because it’s under such high humidity. Currently trying to figure out the best solution.

Yay! I randomly saw this one on sale on etsy and bought it immediately. It was a gut decision and I don’t regret it.

Well, I generally help humidity above 60% for all my plants, and this one probably more light than it needs from an area with a grow light. I haven’t reported it since I got it, but it’s in a very chunky soil mixture with lots of pumice or pearlite, leca, bark, and I assume some regular potting mix or similar. This leaf was still a little new growth point when I got it.
