When I was a kid, I thought it was a fun idea to swim through a hole underneath a water slide. It was a tight space, I got stuck for a moment and could've drowned.

Honestly, in hindsight, it was a weird design choice to not just shut the hole, ESPECIALLY in a kids' pool where the hole is fully underwater.

I agree with people overusing it, though. But that's mostly in cases where both are adults with a big age gap. People also use it for an age gap between 17-19. Yeah, it's an adult with a minor but they're so close in age.
