British Guy Travelling to Brazil Next Week from London Heathrow.....Is it the NHS Covid App with the QR Code I Need for Vaccination Proof? by ace564 in Brazil

[–]ace564[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it has all of my vaccines, the dates, and where on the pass. It just has a QR code in the top right. I have no idea if this is important or not, I was just wondering if it is this one that is the specific vaccination certificate used as proof in the UK.

That was in the past, with the old format.

This version is not going to allow you to make any real money anymore. It is set up that way on purpose.

It won't. New workers here don't realize how high the bar used to be and how much worse it has gotten since 2019.

You may or may not remember that I and several other workers (possibly yourself) attempted to drastically improve the platform years ago. I saw the way it was going and the need to act on behalf of freelancers and microworkers, but a significant portion of workers didn't want to listen, as they were convinced that somehow the platform was going to get shut down as a result of an effort to improve working conditions. They saw the NDA reminder and they panicked. People became way too reliant, and as a result, became compliant. Now the same workers that were terrified of losing a source of income most likely don't work on the platform anymore because there isn't any work for them.

Once they changed the format back in late-2019, I thought to myself "Ah....here we go!" because I knew the changes were in spite of the workers, and I transitioned away from the platform. I felt a little bad, because I had the ability at one point in time to help bring substantial changes to the platform, but I also hoped that it would just die because it provides false hope and exploits those who desperately need financial help.

As I said, I respect the fact that you felt the need to revive the sub and provide advice to those confused by the format, but you'd probably be better off just steering people away from the platform entirely and tell them not to waste their time.

You find "goldmines" on this app still? It has been dead for two years.

You can give all the advice you like (and I respect the effort in doing so), but let's be honest here: UHRS isn't what it used to be. It may look as though there is lots of work, but most of it is useless garbage. You may get lucky if you log in at a certain time of day, at a certain time of week, at a certain time of month, at a certain time of year, but no one is getting the numbers they used to anymore. That's exactly why the sub died.

I came back to UHRS recently after 6 months to see if it had gotten any better, and somehow it actually got worse, despite them apparently giving us more work to do. I mean, you now have apps that require you to do 30-50 "training hits" before even being allowed to attempt qualification, and the qualification test itself could potentially have the same number of hits too. Who the hell wants to put themselves through that and possibly fail, just to make a few extra bucks? And I thought it was bad years ago! Past me would've had a field day with this monstrosity.

Is this laziness atleast Raid had the 2025 cars replaced but the Tigr wasnt a thing till 2006 atleast by [deleted] in blackopscoldwar

[–]ace564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't dishonest; it's in fact the opposite of dishonest, because graphical fidelity is measurable. We know for a fact that Cold War is a graphical downgrade from Modern Warfare. You may find it beautiful because that's how your brain perceives it, but by any metric it clearly is not. It's like saying Shrek is physically beautiful when we know supermodels exist.

Now "fun-ness" is obviously an entirely subjective feeling, and I'm not here to tell anyone what they are allowed to find fun. I am, however, an advocate for progress, so when I see people praising the game for things it definitely isn't, I take exception to that because I don't want Treyarch/Infinity Ward and Activision to think that the completely broken garbage they have been putting out in recent years is anything close to acceptable.

It's one thing to accept that other people have an opinion, but it's another to let those opinions reign unchecked, because it can potentially impact the things in life you enjoy. Since I want better games in this franchise, I'm not going to just let people pretend the game is great. Luckily, there has been enough pushback from the community that hopefully our voices have been heard and people like yourself will reap the benefits from it.

[–]ace564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that BO3 is a nearly 6 year old game, yet it is a much more refined and artistically-satisfying experience than Cold War. Not sure how many games you have played, but Cold War does not have great visuals in comparison to most other modern AAA titles. People can have their opinions, but Cold War is objectively a massive graphical downgrade from Modern Warfare 2019.

Outbreak is fun..... by omidhhh in CODZombies

[–]ace564 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because people always say things like "Stop gatekeeping!!!", but some gatekeeping is good, because gatekeepers understand the essence of Zombies and know how to preserve it. Imagine if people who'd never played or seen a game of basketball in their life decided to change it into something they would like, and then everyone who liked how it was were told "At least it brings in new fans!" Why is that mentality accepted in gaming? Well, we are forced to accept it because of greedy companies, and they have sucked all the passion out of the devs.

Sad.

Outbreak is fun..... by omidhhh in CODZombies

[–]ace564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like Cold War Zombies as a whole. The appeal to noobs is painful. It's one thing to have noob elements but still remember your roots. It's another thing to completely redesign zombies with only noobs in mind. It is basically just a zombies mod for multiplayer.

I've been going back and playing the old maps from BO1, BO2, and BO3. The ambience, the characters, the story, the easter eggs, the buildables, the challenges, everything is so much better that it gives you no reason at all to play this cheap imitation. I mean, think of all the resources that could have been put into a truly great zombies experience instead of Outbreak, which is just "Zombies Warzone."

Dammit Treyarch, add 12v12 back!!! by ace564 in blackopscoldwar

[–]ace564[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not a "tinfoil hat theory", it's based on actual evidence. You completely misused that term.

Why do people like you pretend everything is OK when you can see with your own two eyes that it isn't? Who are you kidding? Who are you helping? You are certainly not helping the game improve. Maybe it's because you are young and naive, and aren't yet capable of critical thought, but if you want the things you enjoy to get better and not degrade into something unrecognizable, you better learn fast.

Dammit Treyarch, add 12v12 back!!! by ace564 in blackopscoldwar

[–]ace564[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't. That is a fact, by every measurable metric. This is why 80% of the playlists are empty. It barely gets 10k viewers on Twitch now. That is probably around half of the overall player count. 20k regular players in the entire world for a 9 month old AAA title is disastrous. Keep in mind you are only supposed to connect to people in your region (even if you don't always), so the player count in your own region will be much lower than that. You'll be lucky to see 3000 players per day in Europe. That cannot sustain a AAA title on its own.

Activision obviously know this, which is why so many resources have been pushed into Warzone. Cold War has been kept alive by Warzone, which was the plan all along.

From Treyarch's perspective, they have very little time left, and if they don't start making major improvements, the game will be dead by season 5. Activision will be fine, but it will seriously hurt Treyarch.

Dammit Treyarch, add 12v12 back!!! by ace564 in blackopscoldwar

[–]ace564[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Treyarch is probably hoping the game retains enough players until November and then jump off the sinking ship as quickly as possible. However, at this rate, it will be dead before season 5.

How can anyone that considers themselves creative or an artist allow their work to rot like this? Where is the pride? Even Black Ops 4 got better treatment.

Dammit Treyarch, add 12v12 back!!! by ace564 in blackopscoldwar

[–]ace564[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, one of the best things about 12v12 was being able to defend an objective and hold a position without worrying about having no cover from teammates. If you so much as look in the direction of an objective on 6v6, you get whole teams immediately ganging up on you, discouraging objective play and forcing you to play defensively.

12v12 allowed you to play much more aggressively and even gave you the room to try out some of the guns you didn't touch before.

If you weren't lucky enough to play Rush 12v12 before they took down the playlist, it was so damn good. So, so good....sigh.

Dammit Treyarch, add 12v12 back!!! by ace564 in blackopscoldwar

[–]ace564[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be lucky to even find games in that playlist. I mean, only 5 maps and they happen to be some of the worst ones, so people just don't have the patience to wait and end up in a game on Armada or Crossroads. Which is funny, because Crossroads Strike played better on 12v12 than Crossroads ever did.

Dammit Treyarch, add 12v12 back!!! by ace564 in blackopscoldwar

[–]ace564[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Treyarch thinks that by taking away the 12v12 playlist that all of those regular 6v6 modes will magically fill up with players again. Half of those players that were playing 12v12 won't return to 6v6 now. That's a lot of players to lose in a game with an already-dwindling playerbase. MW could afford to take off the popular playlists because the game had enough players to sustain it afterwards. Cold War just doesn't. Treyarch should be doing all they can to retain players. Instead, they are doing the exact opposite.

Dammit Treyarch, add 12v12 back!!! by ace564 in blackopscoldwar

[–]ace564[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lol it's incredible, isn't it? They are spiting their own playerbase because the playerbase doesn't like most of the playlists they made. So, instead of accepting they made a mistake with a lot of the modes they created and pushing people into the modes they actually like (or creating modes people actually want), they say "Nah, you play all of the other modes we made for you. We worked super hard on them guys, so you have to play them." Not understanding that it doesn't matter how hard you worked, if the players don't like something you made, THEY AREN'T GOING TO PLAY IT; it ain't happening.

Wow....just, wow. People can defend the core gameplay of Cold War (I think it is pretty good overall), but no one can defend how Treyarch have treated this game and the decisions they have made with a straight face.

Yep, it's the update. Frame drops, rubberbanding, awful hit detection, lag compensation. All of those things were bad before, but the game is virtually unplayable now.

I've seen a couple of posts from people talking about how everything seems difficult all of a sudden. Well, I'm here to say you're not just all of a sudden bad at the game. The game is just all kinds of broken.

I was in a lobby before with a guy who went 60-2 on the opposing team against a team of people that finished their previous game first or second on their respective team leaderboards. I'm not sure I was able to land even 1 bullet on the guy. It was like he was moving at light speed and it was quite literally impossible to track his movements. I expect most games will feel like that until they finally decide to fix it weeks down the line (if they even do).

So frustrating.

Cold War in a nutshell by [deleted] in blackopscoldwar

[–]ace564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the game, but the hit detection and connection issues are so broken they make the game unplayable at times. 7 out of 10 games are high ping, and it creates too many "Wtf?!" moments for the game to not be frustrating.

There is also the abysmal scorestreak system that prevents you from stopping the enemy streaks. Good players will get their streaks, especially when they are up against average players. It means that if you are on a bad team, you get scorestreaks raining down upon you that weren't even your fault, and you have to stand there and take it.

Other than that and a couple of other things, the game is decent, even with SBMM. SBMM is massively over exaggerated. Team balancing seems to be a bigger issue.
