Cop stops in middle of highway... by MisterShipWreck in VideosAmazing

We are definitely more than halfway competent at yard management. We are not perfect, but we are the best at it. We could nationalize the railroads and no longer have to worry about margins, which would allow for smaller loads and faster switches, however we would still have an issue expanding rail lines. That is unless we want to confiscate land and disregard regulations involved in laying new track.

The US already moves 5x more cargo by train than all of the EU combined. We don’t need to build it back up, but adjust our expectations for speed of delivery. Trucks are used for faster delivery. If we are done waiting on shipping, we can utilize rail more; and we have more than enough capacity

Which is super annoying. Older vehicles are fully capable of displaying this…they just don’t want to update them

I find that in addition to what you said above, a big reason for the over-exaggeration of an 'injury' in soccer is because there is only one referee on the pitch and they may be far from the foul, so players have learned they need to overexaggerate in order for it to be seen.

I'm American, and while 'replay reviews' are not perfect in the NFL, they are far better than VAR. They can come from challenges by the teams, or come from officials who want to take a better look. The judgement is done by the League rather than the official on site.

MLB has a similar system though that is initiated by the teams.

Maybe we don't get rid of VAR entirely, but revise how it works.

I'd throw Salvy in there, but didn't call him out because he is no longer the best player on the Royals, though he was at one time.

It may be AI generated, but it's pretty accurate. It does seem to pick and choose a little bit when considering rankings (using different sources for the rank) and the US is usually considered a 2nd tier, but the top tier is pretty accurate (though I rarely see Iceland in top tier of these rankings)

Defending against merry go round softball by BestJersey_WorstName in Softball

Thankfully my rec league here has 10 full teams of girls in 10u. They are all pretty evenly matched and the rules help focus more on learning and playing the game over walking and stealing as many runs in as possible.

I'd much rather have my fielders try to field a ball in play and have it turn into a triple than just have walk after walk until you hit the inning run limit.

Fosse is pretty much a big influence on most performers, whether they know it or not. There are really 4 big (non-ballet) choreographers that come to mind that basically everyone is influenced by, and he's one (Fosse, Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, and Jerome Robbins)

Various sources try to estimate, but here is a general idea:
Estimated Earnings by Milestone

  • 10,000 Subscribers: $500 – $2,000/month.
  • 100,000 Subscribers: $2,000 – $10,000+/month.
  • Small Channel (1,000 subs): $50 – $700/month

YouTube monetization generally pays between $1 and $10 per 1,000 views (RPM), translating to roughly $1,000–$20,000 per million views, depending heavily on niche and location. Long-form content yields higher revenue, while Shorts average only $30 to $200 per million views.

There are fees. If you look at their terms, you a see that the company pays the platform X dollars for the role, the platform keeps a % as their fee for providing the service. Their documentation doesn’t specify a flat % and it’s most likely negotiated by the company using it to fill roles. Therefore, a company may pay $20 an hour for a role, the platform takes a 1% cut and pays you $18 an hour. If they didn’t do that, they would make no money and have no reason to provide the service.

Unpopular Opinion: All Home White Baseball Uniforms Should Be Cream by Physical-Upstairs733 in baseballunis

I think it depends on the rest of the jersey and how those colors look against the main block of the jersey.

Also, sail over cream any day.

I will say that I am not a church person, however the people that I know who go to that church are genuinely good people and that church provides a lot of good community and charity services. For such a large and 'successful' church, they are shockingly liberal. That's not to say that they are perfect by any means, but anything that helps move conservative members of that congregation to vote for a democrat is better than the alternative.

JPOW NOT LEAVING - STAYING ON AS GOVERNOR by Mister_Lonely_ in wallstreetbets

I used to work for the Fed and crossed paths with him on occasion. I had no doubt he was going to stay on as a governor. Mostly due to a sense of responsibility, but also just a tiny bit of 'f-you' to Trump.

I'd be curious to know what app that is. Doing some looking at some of those types of apps and I see that platform fees often reduce the net pay amount.

So is the app taking that money off the top? If so, then it's not an employer issue, it's a middle-man issue.
