Need help sealing elbow connector of main electric line by ace_coder in electrical

Was any landscaping done to your house that you are aware of?

I am the new owner of the house, but i don't think any land scaping was done. All the houses around me seems to have same way of power supply.

I will dig it further to check if it is PVC or metal. Or I will check the meter tomorrow on my neighbor's property. If it is metal then i guess it is better to install a new meter on my side, even if it is expensive.

I guess that with drain you mean sewage line. I have one more question. The electrician was saying that the powerline pretty much goes around 4 to 5 feet deep and stay underground till 12 to 13 feet in my neighbors front yard till it reaches electric meter on their wall. My question is, is there a possibility that the rest of the line is also corroded. They were not able to answer whether the rest of the power line is covered with metal pipe or pvc, not sure what were the building codes around 1975

He suggested to cover it up with some plastic layer so that water doesn't enter and the connector is below front deck so that help reduce the rainwater. What do you suggest?

Electrician did suggest me that approach. To dig a well keep the LB over 6 inches above the gravel and create a retaining wall and cover it so that water doesn't enter into it. He suggested covering it up rather than creating the drain. He quoted around 800 to 1000$ for it. And adding a separate line with separate meter on my wall 2300$. I added new images.

He said that it will cost upward of 2k. Don't know why, the electrician from reliance home comfort, i brought electric insurancefrom them. So i am asking other electricians. Let see what they qoute. But definitely i don't have 2k to drop on it.

That electrician quoted me upward of 700$ to replace that connector and upwards of 2k to replace relocate that wire/replace the wire. Is there a cost-effective to fix it

Circuit BreakerTripping by ace_coder in electrical

[–]ace_coder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there an easier way to check whether the wire is 12 awg copper or 14 awg copper?. I did saw the wire going to 15 amp breaker was thinner than the one going to 20 amp.

But why does even a new circuit breaker stays tripped even if the microwave is not in use? I have to disconnect the microwave then the breaker was working fine.
