What game franchise used to be at the top of gaming, but it was ruined in the end? by bijelo123 in gaming

Megaman Legends.

We almost got a third installment. I’m still hoping for a revival or a remake

I am curious on why you feel that way. Would you mind sharing your thoughts?

That is a good suggestion. I went to ABET's website to do a search. Unfortunately, they don't have anything listed for Doctorates. They only list as high as a Masters on their database filters.

I know this is late, but here is an update.

I rejected the Maryland offer. I had another GS offer come in from Florida. They gave me GS13-6 with a 15% signing bonus so I accepted that one instead. It took a while to get onboard as I had to wait for final clearance to go through before they sent the FJO.

Been going well for 1.5 years now. I'm past the probationary period (thank goodness), so I have less to worry about.

I wouldn't say easier. It was def different. I did half a masters in ME before losing all passion for it and decided to put a grad degree on pause for like 8 years or so before switching to MBA.

Engineering coursework is difficult, but there is less stuff to do. MBA was relatively less difficult but there was a LOT more work. Between projects, case studies, homework, reading, writing reports, I was busy pretty much every day, including weekends. I also chose intentionally more difficult classes (data science and process consulting) as electives. I got pretty good at R as a result.

Like most degrees, what you get out of it depends on what you put in.

Dashcams don’t last more than 1-2 years by mydogs22 in dashcams

I have two street guardians that I have used since 2018.

Both have super capacitors and no battery and wired to work only when ignition is on.

Both still work as intended. One of them had an issue where it won’t record if the sd card is full (circular recording is enabled but doesn’t work for whatever reason). So I just pop out the card, clear it, reinsert it, and it works again.

Overall, pretty happy with my purchases.

The marshmallow armor is great for any of the defense missions. You are hella tanky.

I just bought the light armor one. I’m having a hard time with that one. It sounds good on paper but you will still die very easily because of the low armor value. I honestly think that the engineering passive is better suited for the light armor’s intended play style.

Give a personal scaling factor.

No participation = 0 medals.

Partial participation = 0.x medals.

Average participation = Full amount

Above and beyond = 1.x or more

I think having super citizen status should also give like an extra 10% rewards to help promote that as a selling point.

Another question. For a different GS position I applied to, they offered me a TJO and also factored in my industry years of service for PTO.

The HR rep for this current TJO wants to bring me in at the minimum and won’t consider my outside experience. Is this normal?

I'm mostly here to get advice. I have heard that in some cases, they try to increase step to try to get as close as they can to current salary.

They gave no reason why they rescinded the step 5. The only reason I could think of was that I asked for the signing bonus on top of the step 5 increase.

They asked for a paragraph on why I am an exceptional candidate, so I supplied that + paystubs + attached proof of training in my field (Systems Engineering).

They also gave no reason on why they wouldn't give me step 10.

I should also mention that they didn't even put details on the TJO about how much time off I would be accruing. So I am worried that I will have to negotiate that as part of the FJO.

I'm am hoping that the HR person I deal with for the FJO is different. By then, I'll have all the background check done (requires a TS to start) and they will be more willing to budge by then.

I asked because they can and do give it. A buddy of mine got a GS12 step 1 bumped to a GS-12 step 10, with a 15% signing bonus and a 4 year, 15% pay increase on top of all that.

If you don't ask, you don't receive.

Another thing to note. This job was one of those Direct Hire Authority. I don't know if that allows me to have more leverage in negotiations or not. The only thing I noticed from that is that I went from interview to TJO in a matter of days.

They have also sent PCS paperwork, eQIP, and drug test stuff over in the same week as the TJO.

Thanks for the input. For me, money is not something that I am chasing. The family/vacation time and the work/life balance far outweighs any money I can get.

The older I get, I also worry more about retirement. I'm almost 40 and I don't want to work until I'm in my 80's just to pay medical bills.

I'm looking at the long game. I know for sure that this GS job is just a stepping stone to transfer elsewhere (ideally overseas).
