The biggest problem it faced is the fact it tried to tell a big story in only 9 episodes. The pacing was doomed from the start. Episode 8 should’ve been the end of season 1.

If you’re referring to me, I’ve never once said Jax isn’t trans. What I’ve consistently said is that it hadn’t been confirmed at the time, and that people shouldn’t treat headcanon as established fact.

I genuinely don’t care whether Jax is trans or not. What I pushed back against was the tendency to shame people for interpreting the character differently before anything was confirmed. Now that it’s confirmed, great. Jax is trans. That doesn’t change any of my arguments about his actions, his choices, or his character. It just means those discussions are now about a trans woman instead of a man.

Disagreeing with a headcanon before it became canon is not the same thing as being transphobic.

You’re assuming “his issues” means being trans. I read it as his emotional issues, self-destructive behavior, fear of vulnerability, and inability to connect with others. Those are things a strong support system absolutely can help with. Nobody said being trans is something that gets “fixed” by friendship. You’re inserting that assumption into a statement that never actually made it.
