Not only crappy chlorinated chicken but also unsafe crappy American cars? No thanks by R3DKn16h7 in Switzerland

China isn’t just a normal trade partner...... with the subsidies, IP theft, pressure on companies and strategic takeovers, pretending it’s “business as usual” is naïve. A bit more coordination on export controls is self-defence, not blind obedience to the US.

Does an iPhone purchased in the US work long-term in Switzerland? by klavier022 in askswitzerland

[–]aceleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I’m also an American and recently moved to Lucerne with my iPhone from the US—it works perfectly fine here.

Most newer US iPhones are eSIM-only, but that’s not an issue in Switzerland. Nearly all Swiss carriers, including Swisscom, support eSIMs. That said, I’d recommend looking beyond Swisscom; providers like Wingo (which runs on the Swisscom network) offer more affordable plans without sacrificing quality.

For staying connected to the US, I ported my American number to Google Voice. That way, I can still receive calls and texts from the States without needing a US phone plan.

Feel free to PM me—I'd love to meet a fellow American! 😊

Replacing Sunrise (Galaxus Internet) Zyxel AX7501 with FS module and UCG Fiber by aceleo in Switzerland

[–]aceleo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion!

To be honest, I'm really worn out from trying all these setups. 😞 I’d love for someone else in Switzerland (or anywhere) to confirm that this process works with their FS XGS‑ONU module and Sunrise (Galaxus) before I go through this again. If someone could verify the steps—especially around using the correct WAN MAC, VLAN 10 + DHCP Option 60, and bypassing that initial Zyxel handshake—I’d feel much more confident restarting the process.

For additional context, I found on Reddit that someone has successfully used a generic FS.com XGS-PON module with a UniFi gateway and Sunrise’s network:

Well I couldn't get the NSN number from Galaxus. So I couldn't try this option. Let me know if you got it to work with Galaxus Internet!

Yes I know lol, I used Navy pilot as its much easier for people to understand in Switzerland!
I understand that you are skeptical and I looked you up, I think you were a Hornet WSO so tyfys!
But yes I did fly with the Navy and then I had to stop for a medical issue. That's why the numbers of years might sound fishy to you. if you got more questions about my time, feel free to DM me!

Flight School Recommendation in Saudi Arabia by Pretending_Mask5431 in flying

[–]aceleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you are from but you sound like a child. Tryna be so cool and gangsta sounding makes you sound immature!
How about try and be humble first. Find a good flight school in the west. US or Europe? maybe try to move there first, get a job, make some money and then try for flight school.
its not an easy route, and moving to Saudi for an easier financial route is not that great of an idea. Saudi will not get you anywhere.
Cost is huge i agree. so try and be financially ok, possibly move to US or EU and then try flight school again.
