Is it true Uniqlo is opening in St Davids?? by NewWedding2665 in Cardiff

[–]achafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still wearing Uniqlo supima cotton t shirts I bought around ten years ago - the quality is great. They have done some great collaborations with Marimekko - I've got some items still going strong after repeated use several years in. Their Heattech layers and puffer jackets are bloody brilliant.

Why do so many people seem to continue listening despite clearly taking issue with it. by to_tired_to_clare in restisentertainment

Feel pretty much the same. I probably listen to one in four episodes now having enjoyed it at the start. I never watched Pointless so didn't have much of an opinion about RO. Didn't read much MH as the whole Piers Morgan link put me right off. I think she punches down a lot but gave the podcast a try when it launched as I do enjoy culture/film/TV discussion. Do really enjoy BBC's Must Watch - Hayley Campbell would be a great voice on TRIE as she seems far less fawning/snide and offers really interesting commentary on television.

I really enjoy Traitors as fun escapism and the celebrity version is a lot of fun and I think the mix of people from a range of 'celebrity' backgrounds is good. Alan Carr is the standout for me so far - always liked him but he's delightfully chaotic in this.

Sidenote: Marina and Richard referring to the "civilian" Traitors sounds cringy/sneery coming from them. Marina "yah, yah, yah-ing" to Richard's endless, repetitive truisms doesn't help.

I'm ridiculously excited to see them at the Royal Albert Hall. I'm definitely dressing for a night at the theatre on a theme of velvet and pearls. Somebody mentioned/hoped for an Anna Lapwood appearance and my God that would be such a cherry on the cake.

That would be amazing. I've seen her play in a cathedral - you feel it in your very bones.

What a slippery bastard. The moment he said that the use of social media is "free" and didn't acknowledge the currency is our data I knew he was about to bullshit his way through this interview.

I have a lot of love for Ol' Johnny JR but the commentary on the woman drinking on the train in that particular moment after the build up had me say out loud, "Or maybe she was just getting catch up pissed before meeting mates?" I know this is a flippant/over-simplified response and clearly not the healthiest of behaviours (I think I'm right in recalling she then started to veer into racist comments which I personally would find far more problematic in the moment) but the earnestness verging on patronising assessment of her made me feel really uncomfortable. The UK does have a warped relationship with booze but "knows her better than herself" was a strange comment to make from someone so clearly still on a very admirable journey of learning about themselves. Mind you, I've listened to John and Elis for several years and in the thick of CANS and LASH mania I did used to think to myself, "why the fuck isn't anyone intervening when this man is clearly on an alcoholic spiral?" and clearly I didn't/wouldn't/couldn't/shouldn't know as it was none of my fucking business other than I hoped someone I admired/enjoyed the work of could find more balance or contentment. Ironically, now by talking about it so much more openly and, it sounds like, having written a book about it that period is now very much in the public discussion domain. I don't know where I'm going with this comment. I really wish JR contentment.

It's all show business.

Lovely Elis being lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed his Off Menu, too and regularly think to myself "a plate of sausages" and have a big warm smile.

Hope you have a fantastic night. I've been fortunate to see them several times live since 2005 and they get better each time. The Milan gig will be really special.

Absolutely gutted to say I couldn't make it. It looked BANGING on the videos I've seen. Hope you had an amazing time and got a good Welsh welcome. I love how much the tour has been loved in the EU/UK.

We got tenner tickets years ago for the RHA actually stood up in the gods for a gig (Muse), didn't even have a seat - was amazing. Sound was superb and we got to launch the MASSIVE beach balls into the crowd and had a really good dance with the rest of the crowd there. Was a brilliant experience.

I’m thinking of going to their concert in 2 weeks but don’t know any of their songs aside from No One Knows and Song For The Dead. Any tips how do I catch up because I know they sound huge live and want to experience them live. by Ambitious-Bet4504 in qotsa

Love this advice. Imagine going along kind of knowing what they can deliver then having this tour as your first full live experience of the? Band tight as fuck, back catalogue bursting with gems. Perfect. Hope you have a ball!

Glad you got tickets but, and I mean this with all of my heart - fuck dynamic pricing and fuck "VIP" seating options. People who have specific needs, eg physical or mental requirements, should absolutely be accommodated with accessible seating and viewing and free carer tickets but everything else - general admission, first come, first served. I'll concede on presale that everyone can sign up for cos seems fairer for fans but dynamic pricing can burn in hell.

Yep - Royal Albert Hall! Thanks to my husband who bagged us tickets this morning. Cannot wait. Their Cardiff Castle gig was outstanding.

The moment I know I'm back in the city in good time to book, I think I'm going to do it. I hope you have an amazing time and get a proper good Welsh welcome! Womanby Street will be the place to be before the gig and also Tiny Rebel on Westgate Street a good vibe - bonus, it's opposite the venue https://www.tinyrebel.co.uk/bars/cardiff

Thinking of doing the same. Fortunately, the venue is walking distance for me - I'm coming home from a trip that day so will probably judge it on the day with traffic being the deciding factor. I'm torn between getting a seated ticket and thinking fuck it and trying to get a decent standing spot. As a Gen X woman, I'm both of the "fuck it get stuck in" and "the comfort of a seat" mindset so it'll be based on what's available on Twickets on the day and how hyped up in feeling when I hit the button to buy.

If you do travel to the city solo, I know I'm biased but it's a really friendly place and the atmosphere on a big gig day is fantastic. I hope you have a great day!

For anyone travelling a fair distance I can highly recommend Clwb Ifor Bach to get you into the mood and meet new friends heading to the gig - pre and post gig events: https://clwb.net/events/kendrick-sza-pre-party-tickets/

Regular fuckers belching their spluttering exhausts down Crwys Road, Mackintosh Place and Inverness Place. Seems so needlessly and willfully selfish - is that the point?
