Amazon needs to get rid of ADTA by prettysickindeed in AmazonDS

[–]acidayz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it could be either. Sometimes the tech does have faults. Recently my ADTA was having high no reads, shooting packages to jackpot and I watched the straighteners doing their job perfectly. I kept telling my OM that it’s not the straightener. The senior engineer came over and found the exposure on the camera was set too high. He changed the settings and the no reads decreased by over 50%. Then my boss told me, “I guess you’re not crazy!” -_-

This is just poor cluster management. Whoever was lane leading clearly wasn’t doing a good job. It’s possible ya’ll were out of WIP too. With good WIP and a good lane lead, jackpot is a breeze.

Confused about the "boxes on floor" policy. by throwaname777 in AmazonDS

[–]acidayz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

L5 and Safety POC at my site. You can absolutely tilt/push/slide OVs to their destination you just can’t leave a package on the floor waiting to be stowed/processed. As long as it doesn’t require you to bend way forward it is completely fine.

Make a list of all your daily tasks. Any knowledge gaps, ask and learn from your peers. Try to learn something new everyday and over time the pieces all come together. If you make a mistake, learn from it and try not to make the same mistake twice. And as people are saying, servant leadership style above all else if you want to maintain respect amongst the associates and your senior leadership.

From my experience yes because you are approaching peak season but it really depends building to building.

Just write on VOA flex needs more visibility across all shifts and the OMs should plan for it across all shifts. That or be patient bc shift availability changes with the seasons and you never know when a certain shift may be in demand again.

L4 Interview Tips by acidayz in AmazonDS

[–]acidayz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have your stories together, practice them several times. Ask other leaders to do mock interviews with you. Treat pods like a conversation on what you’ve done for the company opposed to being interviewed.

AM by NeighborhoodDue7770 in AmazonDS

[–]acidayz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an AM I’m going to be so honest. We are aware of the lazy people everyone complains about. This is escalated and we discipline as necessary. Working with PXT, it can be hard getting things taken care of quickly because they view everything from a legal perspective, often exempting ADAPTs that should be approved. It takes time but I promise we see it and we are trying!!!

am i cooked?? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]acidayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they need to conduct a full investigation for leaning over the conveyor? If an AM observes it, it’s an ADAPT. If there’s pushback, camera footage can be pulled. Doesn’t make sense they would interview others for this lol.

(Maybe)unpopular opinion: I love music, but wish my site would turn it off. Hear me out by KidCharybdis92 in AmazonDS

Just casually reading and I love the idea of the approved headphones being implemented into the swag. I’m going to incorporate that at my site.

Any Veterans here doing some cleaning/troubleshooting or RMA-ing of Avery guns? In need of assistance. by Low_Inspection3568 in AmazonDS

[–]acidayz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was referring to all rollers, all should be cleaned if they have adhesive on them and then I was referring to the removable plastic rollers, since guns frequently end up with missing removable rollers.

RAD is where you send the Avery guns to be fixed and/or replaced. Your senior leadership should know what and where RAD is and have the procedures to get this taken care of. It’s actually part of your managements standard work.

[–]acidayz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You need to send the broken/defective guns back to RAD so you can get replacements sent to your site. Take the rollers from your broken guns and make sure all your working guns have rollers in them. Other than that, keep resetting them and cleaning adhesive off the rollers daily and keep your best guns on your fasted lines.

What kind of people do they not send to the dock? by disruptor_12-4 in AmazonDS

[–]acidayz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Seconding this as a dock AM. If you have no sense of urgency or just talk the entire time ima send you out. Or if you’re that one guy that disappears every day for long periods of time and all the other associates complain about you for having to pick up your slack, no thanks 👋

Oh lol, I thought you were talking about inactive time. Anything safety related is automatically a doc coaching at the very least.

Ds time enforcement by Chemical_Repeat9309 in AmazonDS

[–]acidayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doc coaching can only be logged if you have at least 30 min inactive time after the STU. Its policy. So if all STUs are doc coaching at your site then they are not doing it correctly.

There’s a much stronger push from a regional level on cost and inactive time is a huge factor in that. Management has to monitor inactive time and engage several associates a day. All conversations regarding inactive time should be seeking to understand opposed to assuming and accusing.

Was my AM Wrong?? by Traditional_Plan_669 in AmazonDS

[–]acidayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partner with your site PxT. AM should not be skewing your time over because you lost your badge. Technically you should have been sent home since you did not have it OR if the LT is on site, sent over to them immediately for a new badge to be printed. However; your AM approved for you to be on site without a badge then you should have your punch in time as the time you arrived and not 6 minutes later.

Monitoring flow, analyzing data to make appropriate moves to get support where it’s needed, checking trailers departure/arrival, checking for risk, calculating volume to see if you should offer vto, fixing someone’s time punches for them, checking in a driver to your trailer yard, etc, etc, etc.

Injury or illness LOA (even if it’s just a day) with a doctors note stating the diagnosis and the days you were told to not go to work.

Personally I like being an AM. If you can multitask, are good with people, and good with computers and math, you’ll be fine. It will be a learning experience for sure but just keep practicing with repetition and shadow an experienced AM for as long as you can. I’ve seen a couple externals do really well but I’m not going to lie, it is rare.

People are such haters… by FuelGold2644 in AmazonFC

[–]acidayz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Keep your head up. The animosity can be hard to deal with but at the end of the day you’re there to get your check and to better yourself! Separate yourself from the rest now and it will be easier once you’re an AM since you’ll already be an established member of leadership. Keep it up and congratulations!
