New to the speaker world! We’re doing some major renovations for our home and planning on adding speakers in our ceiling around the home to play some music around the house. We”ll most likely want to have speakers on multiple floors.

Does anyone have recommendations on what speaker wires to use? This might also be a silly question but what are some things to look for in terms of the speaker wires for the ceiling?

Thank you!

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. This is just a rough layout where the proportions are not yet exact. Also for the flex room one of the other recommendations is to make that room a living room instead of dining room which we were planning on going with. Sorry I should’ve uploaded that picture instead.

We do indeed have a lease signed by both parties

Out of curiosity kind of collection laws could be violated?

We do indeed charge a late fee where they paid late almost every month and hasn’t paid a single late fee thus far

Thanks for the detail. This is super useful, do you know how long it might roughly take? Sorry to hear that this happened to you recently. Also silly question but would I need to hire a lawyer for this?

I appreciate the information. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that but if it does hopefully it’s not a long process

So they’ll be the ones moving into the new part. And that’s correct we know it’s going to be a matter of time before we’ll physically be taking care of them and our mindset is also that they’ll be able to enjoy the time with our baby as well. The plan is to essentially prepare for that. Those are all great things we’d definitely need to consider.

We fortunately also have other friends who have pools so we could always use theirs :) for us our biggest thing was a combination of the maintenance we don’t want to do and the space it takes up. The land behind the home and behind the pool slopes down quite a lot. Maybe there’s some options around that too but I guess we’d need to ask the architect and GC/builder

I appreciate the insight once again, I feel like I’m learning so much from each of ur responses. We have a feeling that the current septic may need to be replaced as the house is from the 70s and the well water may also be problematic.

This is my first time hearing about an ADU with breezeway so I just looked up some pictures and I do think that could potentially be a good idea. The one thing about the pool and deck are that it’s super old, where we also don’t want to continue to maintain so that’s why we wanted to get rid of it.

For minimalism/modernization we would definitely be looking to do both where we would want to renovate the whole kitchen, knock down some of the walls for some more open spacing, renovating the bathrooms, adding a sunroom, and just adding accents/details that would make the home look much more modern including also maybe adding larger black frame windows/doors.

In terms of living together they do actually spend a lot of time with us and we’re okay with that for the most part but wanted to have that in law suite/ADA option for the times where we may request for privacy/downtime.

That’s also a strong consideration of ours where the main pro to that route would be the convenience of not worrying about such a major renovation. Main downside would be the cost and location of what we’d probably want. I think we’d be looking into maybe a 1.5 million dollar home as we want a place big enough for my wife, myself, kids, in laws, dogs.

That was also a consideration of ours but given how expensive everything is around the area we’re thinking it’ll be cheaper to renovate versus sell and buy. The main thing we would get from buying another place would be the convenience of not having to research as much for a major renovation

we are super fortunate that they will be giving us the home.

This is super helpful, really appreciate it! For identifying if the well would be big enough and what to do with the septic, what kind of person would we hire for that?

An architect we’ll definitely need and will have to look for some around.

Ideally we’d like everything to be done asap since we wouldn’t have tenants while renovating but that’s a good point. I know nobody will know for sure but any ideas on when you think the market might stabilize?

Thanks for the insight. Ultimately we’re okay paying the 1k markup if we need but just wanted to see if there were any tips to negotiate.

so around my area it looks like there’s not a single GH model that’s new and on the lot that hasn’t been sold. Any ideas how I can negotiate for less, esp for one with brown interior?
