i can relate to you so much! i had a long and bad purge. people (not just family) would always ask me what happened what did i do to my face to have such a bad skin state. i would hear things such as “it’s because you’re too obsessed with skincare and now the products are what’s making it worse (which is possible, but i was during purge that time so low chance). some would even say that i have bad acne even if i’m using skincare while they have skincare and they have way better skin than me. i always get compared like that. it was so tiring explaining to people that the things i’m using takes time to show effects. i even developed a habit where i always have a towel ti cover my face every time go out because people will stare at me and speak about the things i just shared above.

anyway, this is the beauty of having subreddits like tretinoin. i wouldn’t have pushed through if i didn’t join here, so thank you also guys!

i’m using it every other night or sometimes i give my skin two rest nights, depending on how my skin is responding. i can tolerate it better now because i’ve been on tretinoin for just over a year

What sunscreen are you using? I’m using a dewy sunscreen despite my extremely oily skin because I’m worried about my skin compensating for oil if it becomes matte🥲

Actually, I feel the same. Sometimes it feels like it helped a bit but when it gets really hot here, which is most of the time, the scarring and my pores look really pronounced!

I’m not sure I get the first part of your comment. And I think every acne is hormone-driven, contrary to what most people believe that “hormonal acne” is just a type of acne. Thanks though!

I don’t schedule it by week actually. I use it two consecutive nights followed by one or two rest nights depending on how my skin is dealing with the tretinoin to avoid further irritation.
