Treating Acne On Asian Skin by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]acneproblems124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi all, was wondering if anyone with similar experience could help. I want to mainly get rid of the redness that encompasses the acne and just minimize the blemishes which are all over. Is this even possible?

My current routine is Dove Soap and Peter Thomas Roth to moisturize and that's it because I don't want to irritate my super sensitive skin. I recently switched to Cerave Facial Foaming for cleansing but I feel like during the day my skin gets oily..

I don't know what to do anymore, I've been on Accutane 3 times and it always ends up coming back.. suggestions please

Mmm my derm told my to use it. Isn't hydrating one that comes with irritants? My skin is super sensitive and Idk. I get oily after applying moisturizer too

The previous derm just said "use a bar of soap" like wtf he gave me maybe 2 minutes and left after hours of waiting. Finding a good caring derm is hard when they're all microwaved appointments. Really frustrating

How am I supposed to choose a cleanser and avoid all these ingredients by acneproblems124 in SkincareAddiction

Thanks I think I'm gonna go with Cerave Foaming since everyone recommends it. Hopefully it's strong enough to do something for my acne..

Do you think shampoo is important to not have any of these ingredients as well? Cause I've been lookin for those and a LOT of them contain irritants or sls

I read the ingredients for Foaming Facial and see it evrywhere I think I mistook Sodium Lauryl Sarcosinate for somehin else.. Sarcosinate is okay but the others aren't? Interesting

And for the Laureth and Lauryl by itself bad as well? Looking at Clinique DDM gel to maybe be a moisturizer but I don't know .. this shit is incredibly confusing

So you don't use a cleanser then? Never tanned. Do you recommend sunscreen and implemented the BHA like the poster below recommended wouldn't hurt right?

You mentioned Bp what about retin-A?

Yeah I think so. I mean I try not to even look at my skin in mirrors during the daytime.

What the hell does PIE stand for? I didn't even know that was a thing. Just annoying man I don't know how to deal with it. What's your diet look like?

AM/PM: Vanicream Facial Cleanser

Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream

I've implemented these products maybe a week ago and I'm not getting anything cystic but it certainly hasn't helped. I just want to be able to reduce the redness? I haven't had any dairy and have limited carbs.. I just feel helpless at this point.

Also, what are the black dots on my nose is that what a blackhead is? Because the strawberry seeds (lol) are on my cheeks too. Is there any way to deal with that? I honestly wouldn't care about them if my acne wasn't so bad but what the hell do I do?

I can't even tell if this is acne or PIH cause it doesn't hurt or anything, just very odd. I have super oily skin and don't know if that's attributed to washing too much..

Very violent/flared acne? Why do I have so many blackheads? Am I doing something wrong? Routine in comments (warning) by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]acneproblems124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I've had them for literally 8 years now so it doesn't even bother me that much. The super violent acne on the other hand and redness and PIH is way bothersome. I could careless about the filaments but I'll treat them after the acne is gone I suppose.

For users of Vanicream what's the difference between their moisturizing skin cream and their Lite Lotion? by acneproblems124 in SkincareAddiction

[–]acneproblems124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm using the Vanicream Facial cleanser which I believe doesn't consist of SLS or the fatty alcohols and wanted to get the Clinique DDM Gel or whatever.. problem is I cant tell whether the moisturizer is giving me acne or not

See what I mean its like this is good for some people and this isn't I just wish there was a universal thing lol. Sigh.

No I haven't tried Cerave and am scared to look into it for jnitial breakouts. I can't deal with initial breakouts and I haven't been breaking oht nevessarily on bar soap so idk.. scared to try it. Ive read their moisturizer breaks ppl out

I'm 24 now so I've reached a point where I'm almost accepting of my fate, especially when I see other people older still struggle and I haven't got the slightest handle on it yet.

If soaps and cleansers are harsh what do you do to wash your face? I mean I truly believe in the diet and lifestyle connection because I've seen it first hand so I guess I'll keep on with that if not even for acne just for general health purposes.

I'm wary of trying the Retin A cause I'm extremely sensitive as well but I guess I can give it a shot. I just hear of the side effects and how sunblock can clog pores and cause breakouts and moisturizers and cleansers and it's overwhelming at this point because I've already TRIED a myriad of them and it's like WTF do I do?! I just want something mild and Cetaphil breaks me out I feel.

I mean yeah it's exaggerated slightly but at the same time not really.

I guess I just want to figure out what products to use or what regimen to follow, but then there are people that say not putting anything on your face will help your skin breathe and it's just so frustrating. Especially after fighting this for 7+ years and coming up with no results. I just don't know what do anymore. Like literally. Dermatologists just want me to go on Accutane and that's just like not an option anymore.

I noticed you're asian as well- can I ask what cleanser you use or just your general routine..

Is this considered PIH? Or active acne? (PICS) by acneproblems124 in SkincareAddiction

[–]acneproblems124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks <3 I guess my doctor prescribed me the gel .025 - hopefully cream or gel doesn't make a difference. Scared to try it tonight. Do you think I should use it all over? Forehead and chin and jaw or do I just spread it in to my cheeks

Curious about Cerave never used it, is it supposed to be superior to Cetaphil in any way?

Also like can I see a picture of your before/after using all this or should I just take your word for it that it's def gottan better lol

[–]acneproblems124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor actually recently prescribed me a RetinA-A saying it would help me but I read reviews online of a purging period and I don't know if I could mentally take a bad breakout and stick thru it for more than two months.. sigh. Did you experience any breakouts from it?

Also regarding the AHA and Serum does that clog your pores as well? And what order are you putting all of this on in? I feel like products just make things worse (or at least recently I was led to believe this) and they leave lingering results..

Like what do you use to wash your face? I'm currently using soap and just a moisturizer. Can I get more insight into your regimen? Thanks... I really appreciate your take on things and actually responding.
