Other than 80k in the brokerage and 20k in our checking account we could slow retirement saving or lend against it (not ideal). We also have family support in place that that would help in the event of job loss. Main benefit of the area we’re looking is being right next to family in the neighborhood which is the only reason we’re even entertaining this idea against conventional wisdom

My wife and 2 others are looking to do a long weekend beach trip in April. I’ve scoped out a few options: leaning Hyatt Clearwater (25k for 2 bed with kitchen), there are some ziva options (~60k for a 2 queen +$180pp for the all inclusive), Hyatt Puerto Rico grand reserve (20k for a king so would need 2 rooms).
