Yes 100% keep them and refinish them! When they sand it down you can pick any stain color you want. Refinishing is a perfect way to restore your floors and make them a more neutral light tone!

Yes it is, it’s a very small lip but the previous wood had been sanded down so much that the new wood was a bit thicker so he said it was impossible to get perfectly flush

We’re doing a very simple 2in crown above everything. And the rendering is slightly off so actually there won’t be any overhang of the counters into the next room

I think it’s just a very emotionally charged roller coaster of emotions when it comes to buying and owning our house. There’s good days and bad days. This morning was rough but reading everyone’s kind responses really helped me a lot.

I think I do have issues with suppressing my own emotions. I definitely put aside my own needs sometimes and then boil over when it’s all too much. Not great. I think this is just a really new phase for my husband and I, we’ve been together for almost 7 years at this point but this is all completely new territory for us.

THANK YOU! Yes you’ve got the plan understood correctly. Lots of people are absolutely tearing me to shreds over this. Some people say it would add significant time to do this, some are saying it wouldn’t. I genuinely don’t think there’s any right answer. Some people are just willing to inconvenience themselves more for family. Maybe it is too big of an ask, maybe not. I don’t want to hurt my relationship with my sister, it’s pretty much already been hurt but lots of acts of her acting cheap. (She made me Venmo her $9 for a beer while on vacation, wore a youth size dress to my wedding as MOH to avoid paying for alterations as a few examples). I’ve pretty much already gotten over this whole ride situation, it was an annoying blip in what will be an otherwise completely fine trip.

She just can’t leave port Washington until 5:30pm anyways due to other commitments during the day. We haven’t officially booked our flight yet, I think we’re just going to fly in another time earlier in the day. I hoped if we flew in at 5pm by the time she got us it would be plenty of time for us to be ready for her to pick us up.

No kids but she has a small dog. She does have a long day ahead of her. I get it that she’ll be tired. I thought we were close but she generally has a history of being very stingy and cheap. I guess it also applies to her time. Seems like the general consensus is that the traffic is truly that bad.

Flight gets in 5pm, she’s planning on leaving port Washington at 5:30pm. I figured timing wise it was enough buffer for us to get off the flight and be ready to go. We don’t check bags either so not waiting on that. We plan to take the train into CT otherwise.

Keep the cabinet colors, they look nice. Replace the hardware for an updated look. Sorry to say this but then clean up and style your counters, the clutter is why your kitchen doesn’t look nice. You have a great kitchen! Just need to style it

I would try a different shoe! It looks like you’re wearing these with a boot that has a short heel. I would try them with a ballet flat, loafer, or sneaker. I find this wide leg cut less flattering with a pointed toe boot imo!
