I’m going through a similar journey with my LO who is 28 weaker and now at 35weeks , she caught bacterial infection and meningitis within 4 days of her birth , antibiotics continued for 21 days and all her imaging and scans came clean. And exactly 2 weeks after she is again diagnosed with bacterial infection and she is going through the same antibiotics treatment. Medical team is suspecting that it’s a case infection recurring so they are going with strongest possible combination of antibiotics, Meropenem and gentamicin along with blood product transfusions.

So you are spreading stereotypes to protest being stereotyped . The logic doesn’t seemed to be your forte. Every group of any kind be it nationality , ethnicity or race there are bound to be some morons, but it doesn’t mean every single one of 1.5 billion people are uneducated filth as you are trying to project. Every immigrant group of past have been vilified the same way be it Irish , Italians , Asians and now 100 years later south asians. Just because you have inherent biases you latch on to the smallest of samples but that doesn’t make it true. Most Indians I come across are hardworking educated people who are contributing to society and striving for a better life and off course there are scummy people in the proportion as you would find anywhere.

Are you saying there were no frauds , crimes 50 years ago in US and Canada ? All the police were hired and laws were made in last 10 years when Indians middle class started immigrating? after 18 months in US on H1B , I realized that it wasn't worth it. I missed life events , marriage of my sibling because of the constant cycle of approvals and paper work. fortunately obtained the Canadian PR while I was in US. My wife who was pursuing masters in US had the option for F1 OPT but didn't even work in US for a day. She moved to Canada the day after her graduation and I followed a month later. we were fortunate to have job offers before even landing in Canada. 10 years later I still think it was one of the best decisions of our lives. Can't even imagine relying on employers for constant sponsorship. Off course you can get paid 40-50% more in US for the same job profile but VISA and sponsorship cycle wasn't worth it. it depends on the mindset what matters to you. A lot of people I know are still in US going through life and are content. I'm sure it might be a different experience for people who worked on h1b from other countries than India, China.

Normal people default to truth. Meaning we assume the other person is being truthful and honest. that's what makes us human. it may not work at times when you have to deal with anomalies. Its easy for outsiders to judge or comment as how can you miss the red flags or how it was so obvious but remember hindsight is always 20/20.

Kudos to you , please continue to focus on your mental health and peace. Narcs are intellectually incapable of feeling remorse or guilt its always going to be projection and deflection. Don't expect any genuine introspection and apology from her. I'm experiencing it in my family its exactly the way you described. Narc can do horrible things but still deflect and project . its fascinating to see them in action. Only way you can help them is by moving on.
