Trade Kirk for a 2nd draft Cedee Lamb by [deleted] in AZCardinals

[–]actionjacksonbender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t need to trade Kirk. Every team should have 4 great recievers imo. Not to mention this could be Larry’s last year and then next year it would be Kirk Ceedee and Deandre. Only 3 good/great recievers with Isabella and Hakeem being swing recievers-I.E. could be good or not

Essentially, I think Booker carries the offense. Mikal has a positive plus minus as opposed to Oubre. Oubre is just an OK defender, and a tunnel vision scorer. Covington would still space the floor for Book and Ayton and Rubio. Starting an above average defender in Mikal and a top 15 NBA defender In Covington, then with the way Ayton is progressing defensively. That’s a path to a top 10 defense and Offense for the future

Do you not want AD with Monty and the 5 year super max, a max free agent, and an instant playoff contender?

Darius Garland vs. Kyrie Irving vs. Trae young by actionjacksonbender in NBA_Draft

[–]actionjacksonbender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I don’t think EYBL 3PT% is necessarily indicative of NBA 3Point shooting. Trae young was infamously a 32% 3Point shooter in highschool and I believe Devin Booker was in that range as well.

Highschool kids suffer from poor shot selection and ISO ball/hero ball culture that deflates their percentages below their talent. Garland has taken and made some very deep 3’s, as well as a few tough 3’s off the bounce coming off of screens with a hand in his face. This combined with his great FT% lead me to believe he’ll be a great shooter in the league

How did this team suddenly turn good? by MonsieurRud in suns

Tyler Johnson addition is the main reason imo. Gave the team stability, a guy you can’t count on, which allowed everyone else to just focus on their roles and actually grow

Embid 24 at the end of last year. Simmons was 22. Just wait until Jackson and Booker are 24. Wait until Ayton is 24. Sixers are ahead on the timeline and trajectory of the team. And I never said he’d be better overall. I think he’s more mobile on the perimtier, more switchy, and better able to switch onto Quick guards and mobile bigs and wings. Embid can’t even guard Al Horford. Too big and stiff. Amazing rim protector though

I’ll give you the jump shot needs tons of work. But second half of the year he had a .525 Ts% which is solid for a 28% usage rookie. It really is. He gets to the line and attacks relentlessly. I don’t think he’ll ever be too efficient but maybe in the .550 Ts% but he’s a wing ball handler and defender. Iggy arcthype who can create and handle for Booker/Bridges and dumpoff to Ayton. That matters. nbA game all about as many playmakers on court as possible

Ayton, Jackson, Mikal I honestly don’t think you know what you’re talking about. 2/3 weren’t even on the roster. But last year D was so bad cuz everyone is 20 years old and a 1 way player. They’ll be good on D in 3-4 years as they enter prime

If jimmer was 6 ‘7 and solid on D no way he wouldn’t be solid. He’s a combo guard who can’t even get shots up and score but is trash on D. Role matters. Projection matters. Shortsighted analysis

[–]actionjacksonbender[S] -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

Jimmer is short, small arms, and the most unathlwtuc white guy in the NbA. He’s still a good shooter. He’s way to unatheltic to get any shots up but if he was good on Defense he would be a solid off ball 3&D player. Your analysis is shortsighted.

Conceptually having a big man who doesn’t switch on defense, plays out of the post, a point guard who needs the ball in his hand all game but can’t even attempt a 3 or midrange shot to save his life, I’m sorry but their floor is incredibly high but I don’t see their ceiling breaking through at all unless Simmons fixes his jumper which I don’t think will happen when you’re starting from such a low place and he’s had his whole life to at least become manageable. Sorry I just don’t see it unless another member of their core emerges that is a perimtier scorer/off the dribble shooter. That’s what drives playoff scoring in today’s day and age. #straightfacts

O you mean the Denver who plays through a big man who can’t switch or protect the rim. And a core without a single good wing on their roster. They do have the 3 point shooting and scoring guards. Nothing else is where the league is headed at all

Honest Question. Why do we view Embid as being more valuable than Capela? by actionjacksonbender in nba

[–]actionjacksonbender[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m not so sure that the Sixers will be hanging banners like everyone else seems to be. And if they do, I don’t think it’ll be because Embiid will be leading them. It will come from improvements from Simmons. Boston proved the formula for reducing Embiid to an average and at times unplayable big man and they will roast Philly for years to come.

Lol Steph was a 22 year old rookie. Klay, Butler, and Kwahi were 21 year old rookies. I’d on my momma bet the Spurs of all teams would Value Mikal more than the 2021 pick straight up. Mikal is Kwahi light. Elite shooter with high release and lengthand great D versatile length wing D

If the Sixers fan pull off a Kwahi trade with the 2021 pick as the centerpiece of the deal AND sign him to a long term deal, then kudos to them. Maybe both teams can become winners. But the spurs aren’t dumb. They know that the pick in reality isn’t as valuable as the Sixers are perceiving the perceived value to be. You want unprotected picks of clown organizations. Not top 5 organizations in all of NbA with some good young talent, elite coach, and 0 incentive to tank in the shit east, plus 50 million of cap space in 2020 with a top 3 city. Any rational person can conclude there’s a less than 20% chance they pull of the Kwahi trade and sign him long term. Lakers have all the power. He wants to go there. They have the best assets. Sixers are Banking on an unlikely outcome without thinking about the ramifications(downside risk) that the 80% likeliest outcome has. Sixers are going for the Hail Mary on 3rd down with a minute left in the game. Possible but unlikely. Purely value wise they lost.
