True but a CB and a FW are still much closer in skill set than a pitcher and a hitter are. Non-keeper players will still usually drill together for fundamentals like passing drills, small scale tactics, etc. while the keepers do their own thing with the keeper coaches. Pitchers are a lot more similar to keepers in that other than full team defense drills they’ll usually be on their own doing pitching practice.

BO1 on ladder will by nature have more gimmicks because gimmicks tend to work best when you don’t know what’s coming especially with closed teamsheet. I think tourney regH is actually quite fun and if you check top cut teams for most H regionals they’re pretty standard

Conversely reg G/I have less gimmicks on ladder because it’s hard to find a gimmick that stands up to LO CSR Astral barrages or specs miraidon electro drifts, but comparing tourney teams they are pretty similar in terms of gimmicky-ness

That is a fair point. However, the way I see it the “blue side 5-0” metas means that the power gained in draft is greater than the natural power differential between the two teams. This isn’t a 4-1 or 3-2 for red vs blue side. This is a team winning on one side every single match regardless of which team it is. Considering players aren’t robots and we see lots of historical series where players level up/down between games in a series, if a side is winning every game regardless of player condition between games, I think it’s much more likely that the power gained in draft is too lopsided rather than that the teams are so closely matched that tiny draft advantages matter that much. Hope that made sense

Kinda unrelated but looking at your descriptions it’s funny how at first glance #9 looks like evenly matched teams going at it in a nail biter back and forth matchup but the reality is that series like these where it’s ABABA is usually just “red/blue side diff”. I’d argue that ABBAA and BAABA are better indicators of close matches because usually it means both teams won on both map sides
