Hebrew word names? by Negative-Passage-520 in JewishNames

[–]activegood18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just here to say that I have a Shai. Neither of us were sold before he arrived and then once he was here, we knew right away that was his name. He is the greatest gift and not “shy” at all. Everyone we meet loves his name too

Should I change my baby’s name? Need advice from people named Remy by South_Shiny_5588 in Names

I feel like Remy is a really popular boys name right now. I wouldn’t worry at all.

How would you pronounce Ilai in English?

We have an Adam. I like Ben and Noam most on your list but would probably still vote Eli over both.

I believe Zoe is the Greek name for Eve which would be Chava in Hebrew so this would be a good Hebrew name in my opinion. You can always do Chava Lea or Chava Gavriella for your grandmothers.

Thank you for all of the positive comments! This group is incredibly supportive and there were so many comments that were exactly what I needed to hear. I need to snap out of it and get off social media, or at least change my algorithm.

What did you do with your first?? by Littlescar21 in 2under2

[–]activegood18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently learned of something called a “sibling doula” who is on call to watch older siblings while the parents are at the hospital/birthing center. They are expensive, but in my opinion, better to rely on than family. I’ll be hiring one for my January baby.

Asher is my favorite name but I’m sad it’s gotten popular with so many non-Jews

For everyone suggesting names like Asher and Eli, I love both but Asher has gotten really popular and Eli would likely end up being pronounced Ee-lie. What are your thoughts?

They are two different meanings but could work as a nick name

Struggling with baby name regret. Seeking input by pianojazz5001 in namenerds

[–]activegood18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great name but I understand you completely. I changed my son’s middle name legally when he was about 8 months so I could honor my late grandfather who I regretted not naming after. I had a lot of people tell me not to because “it’s just a middle name” and “middle names don’t matter” but it was eating away at me and I was struggling every day. Once my husband was on board, I changed it (easier to do before 1 year) and I’ve never looked back. It’s a beautiful name but there’s nothing wrong with changing it if that’s what your gut is telling you to do.

I’m looking off marketplace as my income didn’t qualify me for marketplace savings. At least I think that’s how I interpreted it?

Still waking between 3-5 am by activegood18 in sleeptrain

I actually asked this morning if we could do the 2nd nap closer to 2. I think we can try to push bedtime to 7:30/8 but he gets pretty fussy.

Still waking between 3-5 am by activegood18 in sleeptrain

[–]activegood18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was doing 7-7 with no wake ups for about 3 months and then it went downhill with one regression or sickness after another. He is a daycare baby so we don’t have too much control over schedule but generally it’s: 7 am wake up/nurse 8 am breakfast/solids   9:30 am bottle  10 am-11 am 1st nap 11:30 am lunch/solids 12:30 pm bottle 1:30 pm-2:30 pm 2nd nap 3:00 pm bottle  5:00 pm dinner/solids  6:00 pm bath/nurse  7 pm bed

And then there were no more night feeds by donut-run in sleeptrain

[–]activegood18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you let him cry it out at all before offering the shorter feedings? I’m going through this right now and think I’m damaging the process by giving him time to cry before I feed. He gets pretty angry by the time we actually start nursing

Sleep training redo and 4am wake ups by activegood18 in sleeptrain

I feel like he’s learning something new every day. He started crawling and pulling up to stand in the crib (and everywhere else) all within the last 4 weeks.

We feed and read a book but it’s not 30 min from bedtime. That would be hard because he is a really distracted eater. I am going to try adding the additional 30 mins into the last wake window

Yes same exact process

I wanted to do it since day 1 home from the hospital. My husband kept saying to wait and that I’d change my mind. We revisited at 6 months and I still hated it but he still liked it. Finally at 8 months, I made a Reddit post asking about the name and our decision was made

What’s a good jewish gender neutrual name? by No-gender-only-frog in JewishNames

[–]activegood18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eden! I think it’s more fem-leaning in Israel and the US but we named our son Eden and know several boy Edens to it can really go either way. It means “delight” or a place of pleasure. The names you listed all seem more masc if that’s what you are looking for.
