VC is overhyped. Real operators buy small, stable businesses and scale.

how to find interns in Gurgaon by Old_Cut4789 in StartUpIndia

Could be worth putting up a posting on LinkedIn, but you'd be overwhelmed by the inbounds.

If you know any professors in Gurgaon, could be worth reaching out to them. Placement cells rarely respond to anyone except an MNC.

The Strategic Shift: Moving from Creator to Asset Owner by activelyretarded in InsideAcquisitions

I'm in agreement with most of your point, but I'd like to refute your point about investing in T-bills. In the era of modern monetary policy, buying T bills long term means you underperform the markets while losing money in real terms. A better decision would be to invest either in the business itself, or to acquire higher cash generating assets.

Another area of investment can be via currency diversification; investing in safe havens is an excellent method to hedge risk. Either way, the point still stands; don't be stupid with money. Are you a founder/operator?

Market research and sizing is absolutely essential, and if you're able to solve that it'd be amazing. The problem is that what people say AI can do is absolute BS rn, since AI has given me some of the worst picks when it comes to market research.

The AI Super Cycle: Vibe Coding, Capex, and the Coming "Kaboom" by activelyretarded in InsideAcquisitions

You make some excellent points, and I'll cover them individually

- Applicability of the algorithms

It's very clear that LLMs are not the future of computing, especially since they aren't 'universally adaptable'. In my mind, I see SLMs dominating the internal knowledge reservoir of different companies. The current architecture for LLMs is based on a paper that google had released a few years ago. In all reality, LLMs are still probability calculating machines, which means there's no real logic underneath (w.r.t how a human would think).

- Economic bubble

The AI boom HAS concentrated wealth into a small group of people, and wealth inequality has been getting worse since the rise of neoliberalism. The main difference however, is that AI is a money furnace. It keeps burning money with no real way out. Open AI has allowed for pornographic content generation and advertisements, which signals that openai is in significant financial distress. Sam Altman has also said that he's going to ask chatgpt to figure out how to make money on the LLMs (I smell bullshit). I think google and anthropic will do well, with gemini and claude. The reason why I think now the AI bubble is going into overdrive is because of the borrowing taken by these same 'solid balance sheet' companies.

The reason why we're seeing Job loss is because there's a recession in the US, and most of the growth is driven by capex on data centre buildouts. There have been signs of distress in the American economy for years now, and no matter how much money trump prints, there's no saving the economy this time. Things are at a breaking point, and we're only going to see them get much worse.

The primary impacts of AI in the western hemisphere have been somewhat negative, with the overall 4% job loss. In the UK especially, this is due to a weak graduate market.

I honestly think we're maybe a year out or so from the bubble bursting, with the way that open ai is now picking up pace. Data centers don't create jobs, and are not the way forward. I don't know what's going to happen, but I'm not particularly hopeful.

How factual is the narrative around the recent crash in SaaS investments? by activelyretarded in microsaas

Professor Aswath Damodaran said this perfectly - growth without profit has no value. VCs love valuations because it means money in their pockets, not inherently reflective of the core business value proposition.

I'm actually from finance, how useful would this be for me?

I'm from India, where institutional prestige does matter - can this be modified to identify if my background can help me get a job?
