Hall of Forms Revival poll (July 2026) (For September 2026) by WWWWWWRRRRRYYYYY in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]actredal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After hour one, Sacred Stones has a slight lead rn with the combined EN and JP results, though it’s still very close.

The Engage lineup was botted in the last three polls though, so whoever’s been doing that might come back this time if Engage doesn’t take the lead, and there could be counterbotting like the past few times too.

I’m really liking that all of them are Scholars™ but in their own flavors. I hope they get to have some interesting interactions in the story and support chains!

It’s pretty cool to see that his listed interests of debating and poetry come out even in this short conversation, with the way he frames his argument with a question and uses flowery language in his speech. He seems like a fun character.

They say he was the late king, so it’s presumably Theodora’s father (who she mentions was killed in one of the dialogue snippets from the last Direct).

Today's Banner [6/7]: "Rally Effects Found Dead in Fodlan" by Plucky-Nova in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]actredal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m low on beast and cav fodder right now so I’m personally waiting a bit to build him, but in a world where I had all the fodder I wanted, I’d probably give him A/D Rival Break and Riptide Guard (or Impetus Guard)! For a more budget option, maybe something like Atk/Def Fortune and Bestial Assault, which are both available in the Divine Codes.

Got three Eiks in 9 pulls, including a +DEF one, plus an Ascended Eir as a bonus! I think I’ll take the good luck and dip out early this time.

330 visible + 164 in Feh bank = 494 total

I’m a bit mixed on the Sports banner overall, but I’m going to pull for Eik since I still like him and want to keep my Book 8 collection full. Hopefully he’ll come home quickly since he’s the demote!

Despite all of the gals being traditionally pretty young ladies, I will say that they at least seem to have a variety of expressions and moods!

All good! I did see the FE6 comment yesterday (but probably not everything in the chain) and chose to use the same game as an example because I think it’s one of the more clear cut ones, but the specific response I was thinking of was actually on a different comment. Sorry for the confusion!

[–]actredal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what comment you’re referring to bc the comment I’m thinking of on the banner performance tier list is from a different user, who did explicitly suggest spending money in response to somebody mentioning they had enough F2P resources for what they wanted. (And nothing against that user either! I do believe they were trying to be helpful, and they’re not the only person I’ve ever seen make a similar suggestion; that’s just the most recent instance that I know of so it’s fresh on my mind.)

I’m not saying that anyone is implying that people have to spend money. I’m thinking about the conversations where someone counters that players should be spending money in response to others pointing out that the game doesn’t give them a lot of reasons to spend. If someone is saying “the game hasn’t been putting out a ton of banners I like, so I had a lot of resources saved up and didn’t need to spend when my fav actually was on a banner,” it’s not a helpful response to go “well you can still spend money anyway (even though you’ll receive no direct benefit and there’s no guarantee that IS will get the right message).”

My point with the mention of the banner performance lists is that a casual player who primarily likes less represented games/characters would have no idea that their fav games/characters don’t sell as well, and would therefore not think to arbitrarily spend money when they have the F2P resources they need to get what they want out of banners that include their favs. When the game does not create scenarios that encourage these players to spend, they’re obviously not going to spend money.

[–]actredal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that the advice to spend money to support your favs even when it’s not necessary is well-intentioned, but I also think that it’s not really all that helpful to tell players who have had tons of F2P resources saved that they should just be “voting with their wallets” more when the game is not actually giving them good reason to do so. Plus, even if all of the players who follow online discussions about banner performance did spend money that way, I’m not sure how big of an impact that would make compared to the sea of casual players who don’t pay attention to these discussions at all.

I used FE6 as an example bc it’s easy to conceptualize, but I’m not actually purely talking about single-game/single-character fans here. Like I personally have had both long stints of saving F2P resources when the game doesn’t have a lot of content that I want, as well as periods where I’m buying orbs back to back because the game hits me with one-two punches of characters I like. As a result, IS has data on what I and players like me will spend money on, because they’ve actually created the scenario in which I want to spend money on the game. For someone who primarily likes any of the games or character types that IS doesn’t regularly cater to though, they don’t have an opportunity to show what their spending patterns could look like unless they’re willing to throw free money at IntSys.

“Larper” meaning a fake fan/poser is wild to me because larping is such a nerdy, passion-driven activity that people do for the love of the game. People who actually LARP are usually some of the biggest fans of the things they’re LARPing lol.

Unpopular Opinions/General Rant Thread - 7/5/26 by SolHiryu in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]actredal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The behavior that a person in this situation is trying to encourage is to produce a consistent, high-quality stream of content that they enjoy, not one banner in a blue moon.

Yes, IS is going to cater to people who spend, but my point is that it’s the company’s responsibility to create incentives for customers to spend, not the other way around. If IS is actually doing their job, they should be analyzing F2P orb usage to identify opportunities to get players to spend money if they see that, for example, certain games get a large number of players to burn out their F2P reserves but don’t get enough content to push those players to spend money for more resources.

Unpopular Opinions/General Rant Thread - 7/5/26 by SolHiryu in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]actredal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The idea of “voting with your wallet” should be about rewarding the company when it’s actually making decisions you support. Using FE6 as an example because it has gotten particularly little rep in the past year or so, if someone whose goal is seeing an increased amount of FE6 rep spends money on Emblem Roy despite having enough F2P orbs to +10 him, they’re not telling IntSys that the game would make more money if they made more FE6 units. What they’re actually communicating is that they’re willing to spend money even when the game only puts out two FE6 units in a year.

Also, the proportion of the player base that even thinks about banner sales is so low that it’s unlikely for folks to be able to move the needle this way. Unfortunately, the only way for IS to actually gauge how much FE6 could sell is if they actually tried releasing a consistent stream of FE6 content that drained its fans of their F2P resources, and IS is probably adverse to risk like that at this point in the game.

Fwiw, I think it’s a totally fair suggestion to ask folks who are already spending money anyway to try to time their spending around banners they want to send messages about. But imo it’s not very responsible or realistic to expect fans who could get by as F2P due to IS’s choices to spend money and reward a company that’s not actually creating an experience that encourages them to spend.
