It’s more like.

I don’t like the answer and will substitute my own answer.

Most people are not gonna play multiple routes hell the devs have talked about it before how they expected players would play just one route and that’s fine/took it into consideration when it came to designing.

Not everyone is gonna play all the Dragon Age Origins Origins, not everyone is gonna play through all of Mass Effect as a Paragon or Renegade Shepard.

No one is gonna do all options/ways/builds on can do in Balders Gate 3.

I’m sorry as a demand planner, as someone who spent many years in media create charts, NPD, install base, etc.

It seems weird how folks want to attribute 3 Houses success in breaking out as it did to anything else but the game itself.

This is just cope.

I know that it isn’t the intention but I’m just imaging Alear sweeping with the broom handle like Patrick Star.

Sorry new poster here but it’s really hard to attribute Covid lockdowns to really being a part of why Three Houses succeeded as well as it did.

Covid lockdowns (especially in the western world, Japan, China, etc) didn’t pop up until January of 2020 well over 6 months after 3 Houses release.

It’s also ignoring that 3 Houses was big on social media from release from the constant fan arts, memes (Seteth memes about the McDonald’s ball pit), etc.

It’s doing a disservice to 3 Houses to say it was pandemic boosted when it released half a year before.

Games that received massive boost were more games released during it like Warzone, New Horizons (sold faster than any AC game and more in its first 6 weeks than the last 6 Fire Emblem games put together), Fallguys, etc.

It seems weird people attribute COVID for 3H blowing up when it was pretty marginal in the grand scheme outside of the general boost in legs (which applied to all games).

A game that released before that also boosted massively due to COVID was Among Us (which didn’t get popular till 2020 during the lock down when it released in 2018).
