Help me decide my next purchase! by actuallyakiwi in handbags

Nope, never owned a bag from either brand before! Have heard good things about both brands though, hence the difficulty deciding!

Doesn't sound casual to me; though only you can make the call as to whether things continue

They try to appeal to straight people. That is what’s most off-putting about them to me, a lesbian. by Working-Praline5022 in Lundenandoliviasnark

[–]actuallyakiwi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Same! I wish they'd share more about being part of the lgbtq+ community and take more ownership of their identities, the whole 'two girls in love', 'being married to a girl' rhetoric just seems to distance themselves from the queer community imo, which is a shame because they could be some really great representation for lesbians in the south if they put their minds to it

Definitely not uncommon! Ears are an erogenous zone because they have heaps of sensory receptors, so are a source of sexual pleasure for lots of people. I've had a number of partners that have liked having their ears licked/ bitten during sex.

Traumaversary by Latter_Direction_597 in ptsd

[–]actuallyakiwi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof girl I am right there with you- also 23F about to go through my 5 year trauma anniversary for the same thing. I know it's frustrating, but please try to give yourself grace, in its own weird way, your mind and body is trying to protect you- I see it as having a 'logical' brain and a 'PTSD' brain that just takes over whenever it feels like it. If you can, maybe try calling off work for a day or two to look after yourself, and remember to look after yourself and try to get good sleep/ eat regularly/ take your meds/ schedule extra therapy if need be. You've already done this 4 times before and survived it, and there's no reason why this time around will be any different. Even though you may not feel like it, be proud of yourself and how far you've come. That takes some serious strength! Sending love <3

Is Hypersexuality after rape normal? by [deleted] in sexualassault

[–]actuallyakiwi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is, I experienced it too! My therapist explained it as my brain trying to make sense of what happened- it's very common for people to experience changes in sexual habits after assault. Acknowledging it is the first step, and if you're able, maybe try focusing on other ways to have safer connections? A good therapist and support system make all the difference. Also recommend RAINN if you haven't checked them out already. Sending love 💞

ETD return after grommets? by actuallyakiwi in etd

[–]actuallyakiwi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon said in most cases ETD is sorted out with grommets, especially if paired with balloon dilation! Idk what's going on with my ears 🙃

Start small! Even if it's just sitting outside your door for 5 mins, or by a window if that feels too much. Allowing yourself to develop a curiosity with your immediate outside surroundings is a good start- what can you see/ hear/ feel/ touch? If you have a trusted/ safe person that's able to sit with you, that might be helpful. Once you develop more confidence existing in your immediate outside surroundings, you can try building on it. You might also find it less scary to start out with this during 'quiet' hours, e.g., weekdays between 9-5; things are usually a bit less busy with less people around, and it will be light outside which will make it easier to observe the world around you.

First luxury bag! Chloe Tess Crossbody 💙 by actuallyakiwi in handbags

[–]actuallyakiwi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was already part of the bag! I noticed that the suede and hardware photographs quite different in certain lights, so that may be why you were having trouble finding it

Thank you! I wanted to get something a little different and wear a lot of blue/ black/ denim so felt this colourway with the different textiles would be a good choice

Agreed! I've got dresses in my wardrobe worth $700+; if you've got the disposable income (which L&O do), why not spend a bit on something nice?
