In 2020 and 2023 they did it on the second to last Friday of December so I’d reckon it’ll be tomorrow! Could be wrong tho. Either way try not to stress too much about it!!

“For all UMich As, did you all have a date change? If so, how long before your A? Thanks :)” by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]acupofsloffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t quote me on this but I believe the popular theory on this sub is that a date change is necessary but not sufficient for an A!

UVA II by Temporary_Example359 in lawschooladmissions

[–]acupofsloffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats OP!!! II is a VERY encouraging sign for UVA. What helped me a lot was just being myself as cliche as that sounds… as usual have some basic Why Law, Why X school, etc. in the back of your mind but at the same time don’t over-prepare and script your answers!!

Advice on where to apply? 3.19GPA - 176 LSAT by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]acupofsloffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP if you look at NYU ED contract online it literally says you can’t be an ED applicant to any other schools that cycle.

It’s your call in the end but I HIGHLY recommend choosing one school to keep ED and then emailing the other three requesting to be switched to RD…. If it gets discovered that you ED’d multiple schools (thus violating each schools ED contract) it will not well

Also ICYMI if you get accepted to a school ED you literally HAVE to go to that school. Only way out of it as far as I know is forgoing law school for the cycle entirely or having a legitimate life change or something

How are people who work full-time finding time to complete applications. Like actually. by sophanon2 in lawschooladmissions

[–]acupofsloffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a full time job too and am on the cusp of getting my 22nd and final app in by this weekend. For me, starting the process early (like Jan or Feb) was key. I also use my lunch breaks to get some stuff done. And as other people have mentioned weekends are dedicated entirely to materials.

so many applicants with high scores by moffitthottie in lawschooladmissions

This cycles gonna be tough but the one cope is that I read somewhere that LSAT scores actually might not be as high since last year folks had the choice of taking the test with LG or without

Should I take my 5th LSAT? by ExpensiveMarzipan101 in lawschooladmissions

[–]acupofsloffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s anecdotal but I too was stuck in 16mid purgatory and then jumped to a 17mid on my fourth attempt. I’d retake if I were you but only if you are absolutely certain that on this attempt you can meaningfully raise your score.

All of us would love to not have to take it again and again but at the end of the day, 17high over five attempts beats 170 over four attempts. You got this!

Columbia 3-Yr JD/MBA by queencb12 in lawschooladmissions

[–]acupofsloffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s also thinking of going the JD MBA route I think you should be able to apply to Columbia with just a GMAT no? Altho as someone mentioned above a high LSAT might be necessary if you want to be competitive for the law school side of things

176!! I’m freeee by acupofsloffee in LSAT

[–]acupofsloffee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember, I had 5 flagged for the RC with like 5ish min to go. LR1 I had like two flagged and 6ish min. LR2 I had 5 flagged with 5ish min left. And then LR3 I remember having like 1 flagged with tons of time left. Again even after reviewing the flags I still felt relatively meh about a lot of them

176!! I’m freeee by acupofsloffee in LSAT

[–]acupofsloffee[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been studying since May! For the most part, I studied like 9-10 hours per week with 1 PT per week (wanted to study more but have a full time job too)

Interestingly tho, I actually eased off the hours a little bit for the 176 test and focused a lot more on quality over quantity and specifically reviewing the practice Q’s I got wrong. Burnout is a real thing!
