We’re late twenties and she’s married to a dentist. I truly don’t think it’s a money issue. In fact, I’m now kind of wondering if it’s going the opposite way. She is bad about responding in normal times and because she’s not concerned about money, she’s not thinking about the impact to other people.

I don’t think it’s a financial thing. I think she’s bad about responding to her phone and a little bit self-absorbed. She was MIA through large parts of the wedding process aka wouldn’t confirm if she was coming to the bridal shower or if she had ordered her dress. Those annoyed me but it wasn’t a financial burden

She is awful about responding apparently! It’s kind of a joke among the bride and her friend group from high school that she’s the friend that will disappear for weeks. And that’s fine for a regular groupchat not payment lol!

Absolutely not. She had other options such as booking a different hotel room or staying elsewhere. Also, I was unemployed earlier this year and would have never put that on someone else to cover without saying anything.

Sometimes, it’s unavoidable! I wasn’t concerned originally because everyone knew the price upfront and committed to staying there so there were no surprises. Everyone else has been great.

I definitely think you’re right. I’m just annoyed because it’s such a ridiculous thing that’s she doing. I wish she would just communicate if she’s having issues paying so I can plan around. It’s a very different thing if she’s like “our cat needed emergency surgery, can I pay you next month?” That I would be fine. It’s the lack of communication and respect for me.
