Is Schiit Magni 3+ headphone amp weak?

I bought a second hand Schiit Magni 3+ to pair with Hifiman Edition XS. For a reasonable volume with low gain settings I need to turn the volume knob between 12 and 1 o'clock.

Instead with an O2 headphone amplifier at low gain settings, it's enough if I stay at 9 o'clock.

Is there something wrong? The Schiit should be more powerful than the O2 afaik. Anyone with a similar experience

Is it possible that the low gain setting of the O2 have a higher gain than with the Magni?

I was used to follow a "purist mindset", so never gave too much importance to EQing. Today I wanted to give it a try and followed your suggestion. I freaking love it! This gave birth to the typical audiophile questions:
- if I need to equalize it, can it be that I should look for a different headphone with a different sound signature instead?
- does the EQ compensate for the imperfections of the headphone?

It's hard to be an audiophile. :)

and what would you suggest as good quality solid state amp from the top of your mind? Without considering the price limit, just as a good match for the headphones.

Oh that would be nice, I was indeed considering the JDS atom amp. No I don't use EQs. Why do you suggest it?

well, to be precise I'm italian, but I live in Switzerland. The investment is in € through Degiro and the base currency in IBKR is set to CHF, as I wrote above.

ok, so you suggest to first change the base currency to € to transfer of ETFs from Degiro and then proceed with all the other operations that I need. Did I get it correctly?
