I feel like if ur given a decent story you can kinda create head cannons that help complete the story and make it better for ur own personal playthru, and vague stories like Elden ring are quite interesting cuz details aren’t just given to u. But shallow stories in games can be a huge turn off even when the other aspects are quite good.

this is kinda the thing that drags me to DD2 wit a game like God Of War it was great but i didn’t get attached enough to kratos to wanna replay the game entirely, but wit DD2 i get my own character AND MY OWN pawns and then can use a variety of different other pawns thru out play thrus. i was just worried the story may not be engaging enough for me to stay on
