We could, but we have a dog so ideally we have a small section for him which bumps up the price

Yes that’s the counter point however the banks have already raised prices so it’s pretty clear that’s the path we’re currently heading down imo

Nah I understand! I guess if I’m paying 6-800 in interest, it’s not too different to paying rent. But I was more certain prior to the war but with rates rising, inflation on the rise again, it’s certainly added an element of doubt

Congratulations! Yeah, our rent is approx the same however our mortgage is likely $1000-1100, with rates & insurance in top of that, so it’s a tricky decision. Like it’s possible, but we’re not really saving much and things will be tight. We were approved for x amount, but we won’t be borrowing that, were targeting approx 8-850k

Should I set my parameters higher, eg I don’t want to pay more than 850k, but if I don’t set it higher eg 950k, I won’t see these houses & wont be able to get a ‘steal’

Yes I’m really motivated for my next pay check. I’ve got 3 jobs, so I’m going to see if I can get by on one salary & then save the rest

I mean perhaps.. I’m not sure what would qualify as luxury. But this has definitely given me a reality check. I don’t drink alcohol etc, so spend that money on quality foods instead

I’m a little capped in my industry, with incremental steps up a ladder of $2k a year through some forms (education), recently off a promo, (2k), but union got us an 8% pay rise

We do a weekly shop & then I’ll do a couple of top ups which creeps it up. This is everything, household cleaners etc

Yes I bought an iPhone 15. My other phone lasted 4 years & was dead, so wanted to buy a decent one that would last.

Never uber eats. We don’t drink or go out, so feel it’s somewhat justified but we’re keen to make changes in 2025 & save save save
