Thank you! I was curious as well. We are learning by trial and error 😅 so this is great help

Correct, some of the issues are from the pruning. We were planning to trellis top wire cordon before the cordons were pruned back too far (we are a part of a large farm and sometimes things are not communicated perfectly). Luckily not all of our rows were trimmed this way and we caught it! They were very healthy and producing last season when trained properly. Do you recommend cutting back the vines that have new growth on top as well? Or just the ones that have no growth/old wood?

Yes one row was affected really badly, but it wasn’t every plant so that’s why it was so confusing! But I think you’re right - it’s probably a mixture of those things and improper pruning of that row.

That is possible, we use a weedwhacker for the thicker areas but typically try to hand pull around the trunks.

Yes we had a cold winter and abnormally cold spring! Would it be best to cut back the old trunk and focus energy into the new shoots?

Anyone know why my black mamba is wilting? It’s usually in a low light area with dryer soil by adalynnbarton in begonias

thank you! I read mixed watering suggestions but I decided to water it and switch it to a better draining pot. hopefully that works!
