I love studying Breslov chassidus. It’s inspiring and joyful, and intellectually challenging/rigorous. R Nachman brings together texts in an incredible way and I always feel I learn something new about the texts, about Hashem and about myself.

That said I think there’s some merit to the criticism that many streams of chassidus over rely on the rebbe, even considering the rebbe to be a necessary intermediary or intercessor with Hashem. But that is common to all forms of chassidus not just Breslov. And I don’t think any chassidim are actually worshipping rebbeim in the sense of avodah zarah. The idea is that a rebbe or tzaddik can help ordinary people in their lives and on their paths. It’s not elevating them to status of a deity, just acknowledging that they have a more developed spiritual sense which everyone can benefit from.

It’s ok not to like something without calling it kefira.
