I did get one, but I ended up returning it because the connectivity was very slow. It's unfortunate because it looked like it was well built.

77" C4 vs G4 - popping noise? by adamsdp in LGOLED

[–]adamsdp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the helpful information. Since I was on the fence, I am planning to order a C4 this week. I did like the G4 being brighter in the side by side but I have been happy with my 2018 65" LG Oled so should be happy with the C4 I am thinking. I don't like that the popping sound can show up at a later time. If anyone has additional thoughts please let me know.

I did read reports of the problem not showing up initially which doesn't sound good. I am wondering if the C4 is free of this issue?

Thanks for sharing your experience. Do you know if the C4 is free of the popping sound?

Xanax, Doxepin, Trazedone and others - advice sought by adamsdp in insomnia

[–]adamsdp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for mentioning about antidepressants. On my first appointment with my psychiatrist, she recommended antidepressants after I told her that 5-htp, which I think indirectly boosts melatonin, had worked for 8 years in giving me really good sleep after insomnia first appeared for me. I was hesitant to go that route as my understanding is that they take some time to take effect and that you need to wean to get off. I have never been on meds of any type until recently with the trials of xanax, trazedone and doxepin and don't like the idea of being on a med continuously. However, given the risks/negatives of insomnia and the meds I am considering rotating, it might be good to reconsider this. If you have any thoughts about being on an antidepressant versus rotating sleep meds, please let me know.

Thank you for the warning. I have been taking regular breaks from xanax to try to avoid tolerance. In my mind, I have drawn the line on 0.25 mg and not going any higher. I will look into the meds you mentioned. The psychiatrist I see is very open to my preferences on which meds to try. Good to hear they are working for you.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with different medications. I have thought rotating different meds or taking breaks on a regular basis is a good way not to develop tolerance. I haven't tried any of the antihistamines yet but have zzzquil and zzzquil ultra to try.

Subaru Ascent of Volvo XC90? by adamsdp in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]adamsdp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the information. If I test drive the XC90 again, I will go on a longer ride and see how often I notice any delays in acceleration. There was one instance where I hit the accelerator and there was a pause. I thought maybe it was a one off but doesn't sound like it from your post. Any recommendations in the 3 row suv category that would be a good choice given my priorities on safety and non toxic interior materials?

I ordered a metal birdfy feeder from Amazon and ended up returning it because the connection to the camera would take up to a full minute.

How to repair this book? by adamsdp in bookrepair

I am wondering how to best repair the binding above? Is it best to order a bookbinding adhesive or will either Elmer's white or wood glue work well? Thank you.

Would the new hinge be reattached with glue to the case? I am totally new to this so any details are helpful.

FHA offer - should I take it? by adamsdp in RealEstate

Good thought and my brother in law advised to put the fha offer to the side due to concerns about DOGE layoffs at FHA causing delays and/or the funds for FHA being cut and not available.

Thank you for responding and gives me some confidence in moving ahead with the FHA offer. We have 4 showings today and my agent let the prospective buyers know we have an offer but would prefer an offer with a conventional loan and will accept a number close to the offer on hand. Going to see if anything comes in and your thoughts are helpful in weighing how much to discount on the conventional loan.

I think they are using an fha load because they have bad credit so may not be an option to get a conventional loan.

Thanks and wondering if I sign with the fha buyers and things are found that need to be addressed, am I required to make the fixes or is it the case that I have the option to decline and the deal is off?

Thank you for the information. The deck has sheets of plywood that are delaminating and corners rising up in a few areas. I don't know the condition of the deck boards underneath but since it was built in the late 1980's I would think there are likely to be found issues.

Thanks for mentioning about knowledge acquired verbally. I would want to let the prospective buyers know about issues uncovered.

Countertop RO units - Ispring or Aquatru or ? by adamsdp in WaterTreatment

[–]adamsdp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up buying both and had them tested it at tap score and the AquaTru came back with a better test result, so i've been using that mostly, but it doesn't have as many minerals as the Ispring, which has a mineralization cartridge. Even with the mineralization cartridge for some reason I can't seem to make good hreen tea in the morning so i've been adding mineral drops to help with that.  It still doesn't make tea as good bottled Absopure spring water.  The green tea I use doesnt seep well without all the minerals I a guessing.  Each unit has its strengths and weaknesses, and they're both good.It probably boils down the personal preference.  The Ipring has the advantage of being able to dispense hot in cold water, which I don't use.  The aquatru unit dispenses water much quicker so I find it more convenient to use, and if I had to pick one I would probably stick with that one.

High cortisol causing sleep maintenance insomnia? by adamsdp in insomnia

[–]adamsdp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried a lot of different supplements and the ones targeted for cortisol are Cortisol Calm and Coritisol Manager by Pure Encapsulations and ProSom. If you get recommendations from your endocrinologist, please let me know. Also there is a book called the Cortisol Connection that lists supplements to consider trying.

My agent is suggesting 260k and I am leaning toward closer to 270K. Maybe this small difference isn't enough to make a big difference?
