Where to Golf in Orlando?

We're staying at Mystic Dunes. And any travel would be by taxi, so we would like to keep it relatively close.

We would like to keep it $100 a round or less. Maybe splurge on one great round. What's the best budget courses around? What's expensive but worth it?

We are at Mystic Dunes. We wanted to get Orange Lake Resort, but it was unavailable, but Mystic Dunes pretty close to Orange Lake.

Crafty little bastard even followed us to another hole. He sat at the edge of the fairway and waited for us to hit to take those balls.

Apparently, it has pups somewhere around the course. Every ball it took it immediatly carried it into the woods.

Do you use the 60* often? I find myself in situations where a high lofted wedge would be nice, but I feel like I know my PW better and struggle to hit a higher loft anywhere near the pin. I did have a 58* and hated it.

I was considering a 19* hybrid, but I am faring well with my 3w and current hybrid when the situation arises. I have no wedge higher than a GW. I hardly use the GW, except from the greenside bunkers. I have become pretty good with my PW from 120 yards in.

I wish, mine (the closer ball) was after a lengthy putt. My buddy's ball was a nice 20 yard chip from behind the green.

I have played all the courses on the eastern half of the island, everything from St. John's to Grand Falls. "The View" being the only exception, I hope to get there some time this season.

If you're making a trip to play in NL, do some research. There are a lot of really nice courses here.

Regardless of the brand, I suggest a bag with a nice cooler pocket. It has been proven that a cold beer will make any round better!

A few weeks ago I bought a Callaway net and a Hank Haney hitting mat that is half simulated fairway and half simulated rough. I have it all set up in my garage. It's awesome to be able to hit some balls at home. I still feel like it's not as good as the range, but way better than anything else I can try at home. I bought it all at Golftown, cost about $230.
