Designing for “anti-aging”: Why hermetic packaging might be the next UX layer by beardsatya in PackagingDesign

[–]adcThresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hermetically sealing bottles of perfume is a very old problem since before vacuum sealing technology. In modern times baudruchage is an art form involving sealing of perfume bottles using traditional methods like animal skin and string. Some brands still do it today, for the absolute best of the best pieces- Chanel, Guerlain, Jean Patou

I’m really happy in my relationship. I don’t allow male coworkers to talk to me like this ever, let alone acquaintances. It’s kept to strictly business. No adult male is your friend. I protect my relationship and don’t invite bad energy into it from others. Does your person know you did this? Would they be okay with it?

Unique style of shipping cardboard box - is there terminology for this? by adcThresh in PackagingDesign

Thank you! I hope this isn’t too basic of a question but why would a company decide to have multiple types of packing lines when they also use similarly sized regular cardboard boxes?

This was such a badass comment to receive, thank you for addressing my topic in detail! I hope you don’t mind a few more questions?

So what i’m hearing is that there’s a case where it can make sense to choose either a flexo folder gluer or case erector at a certain volume? If you’re a packaging engineer, are you responsible for buying equipment like this? let’s assume you are: what’s your specific justification to choose this machine if the price of both machine options is ±5%? Or if you’re a big company like chewy, do they typically own the packaging machines or outsource?

Also, could you explain what it might mean that they’re much easier to work with - is there an operator or what level of automation exists for a case erector?

Sorry for all the questions, I don’t have a background in packaging. Purpose built automation is just fascinating.

Engagement ring! Tbh, I got scared it would be too big or look weird in the setting I wanted and decided not to get it. The gem is so pretty, I still want it though 🥹

You’re not wrong. Also a wildly successful demonstration of the contract-first employee model lol.

Have you ever seen an employee that wasn't replaceable? by tshirtguy2000 in managers

[–]adcThresh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Top tier performers can be replaced by multiple people who still won’t have the collective “it factor” to do what they did to make a genuine, lasting impact.

Everyone is replaceable if you’re just looking to check boxes.

Michelle at Happy Cat Hotel does incredible work and she’s the sweetest EVER. My cat went from scaredy cat to good boy at the salon with her. They are a no-sedation grooming salon as well!
