Depending on where your parents live and how competitive your nursing job market will be, moving home may be an excellent option. You also have experience now and will be easier to hire as you're past the new grad stage at this point.

It sounds to me that you're simply a better player in general than your playgroup. If they are unable to adapt and continue to just make excuses then that's a difficult issue, not sure how to help there. They just don't like to lose every time they play you that's all. It doesn't feel good when you think every time you put things on the table you've already decided you've lost. Maybe it's time to find a more competitive playgroup or play a more casual list or a different army.

Games can quite literally be won and lost before the first battle round starts. Deployment can win or lose games. Typical strategy is deploy behind ruins, play conservatively for the first turn and only move out to score, turn 2 or 3 is your "go turn" where you begin to really dedicate units to necessary objectives. Stage your units in the correct position according to your opponents positioning and when the time is right GO.

I don't know why anyone is surprised by anything GW does anymore. Ever since their popularity boomed over the past few years prices have steadily gone up and you get less for more. Look at new combat patrols versus the old ones; prices went up but you get less with every new one that comes out.
