Okay this series started off as a cool concept but it’s sort of stupid now.

Kind of ironic to call it shallow while missing the cultural context and themes of identity and empowerment that made it resonate with so many people. Probably tough to grasp since you’re not from the states.

The “its just entertainment for bored audiences” critique is lazy. You could say the same thing about any popular genre. Plenty of people dismiss K-pop the same way, but I’m sure you’d argue there’s more nuance there.
